By whom, as a human, the assembly of gods was conquered by his own power.
For nine thousand years and nine hundred years,
He fell from Kubera’s abode, free to go as he wished.
I will tell you, O Earth, as he was dancing—listen: by which a man, cutting the bonds of worldly existence, may go.
Thirty thousand years, and thirty hundred years as well,
is the reward, O fair-hipped one, for one devoted to my actions.
He is born as my devotee, freed from the bonds of worldly existence.
Having attained Jambudvīpa, he is born as a king of kings.
He is born as my devotee, devoted to my actions.
Whoever leads me, O Earth, remaining on the path of my actions,
having performed abundant deeds, he goes to my world.
For the sake of the happiness of my devotees, and the liberation from all worldly existence,
that being delivers ten ancestors before and ten after.
If one recites among the Bhāgavata texts, liberation is attained by the self.
If one desires success, welfare, auspiciousness, and what is dear to me,
one should never recite this chapter for the sake of criticizing scripture.
Thus, in the Śrī Varāha Purāṇa, in the divine scripture, in the dialogue between the outcaste and the Brahma-rākṣasa, is the one hundred and thirty-ninth chapter named 'The Greatness of the Boar.'
Now, the greatness of Kokāmukha (Badarī): The holy places have been heard by you, and those you have described.
But what is that supreme place where you, in form and image, reside?
Śrī Varāha said: Hear now of those places where I reside, as they are being described.
That place called Kokāmukha, which I spoke of before,
is the place named Lohārgala, resorted to by the king of the mlecchas.
Behold, along with its sanctuaries, my abode—this entire world, both moving and unmoving.
But those who know me, O Goddess, and my secret, the path of my desire—
Then, having heard the words of the god, the Earth spoke these words:
The Earth said: How is that excellent Kokamukha? You ought to tell me that.
Śrī Varāha said: There is no place superior to Kokamukha, nor is there anything dearer than Kokamukha.
But whoever, having gone to Kokamukha, turns back again—
Of all the sacred places you have asked about, O Earth, there has never been, nor will there be, a place equal to Kokamukha.
That supreme form of mine, which they do not know, being concealed—
