All of them went ahead, accompanied by wealth.
Then, at the first half of the day, on the thirteenth of the month of Māgha—
At that very moment, he set out on his journey.
Then, after a long time, you brought Narayana.
Having bathed, having satisfied the ancestors, and adorned with clothes and ornaments—
There, one named Bhangurasa, devoted to his duties, was mine.
Then he gave him twenty cows of great value.
He gave wealth and jewels, always, day after day.
Thus, while he was staying there, the rainy season arrived.
The kadamba trees blossomed, as did the kuṭaja and arjuna trees.
They are struck down by the torrents, as thunder roars and hums.
There is the resounding noise of rivers and the cries of peacocks.
There, the winds blow gently, bringing comfort to the peacocks.
Thus, that season passes, resounding with the drums of clouds.
The ponds are clear and filled with lotuses and water-lilies.
Pleasant, fragrant, and cool breezes blow.
When autumn ends in this way, the festival of Kaumudi arrives.
Then, on the eleventh day, O fair-browed one, after bathing and adorned with linen garments—
Having dwelled here for six months in comfort, the twelfth day arrives.
Hearing the words of his parents, that son, steadfast in righteousness—
Thus it is, O greatly fortunate one, as you have spoken.
This is indeed the twelfth day, dear one, beloved of Lord Nārāyaṇa.
On this twelfth day in the bright Kaumudi, the joyful give gifts.
By the power of that giving, which brings delight to Viṣṇu—
As they spoke in this way, the auspicious night passed into morning.
Having become pure, as is proper, and adorned with linen garments—
He took hold of both his parents' feet and addressed them.
Whatever you ask, dear father, regarding the secret of the boar—
I ate insects and, afflicted by indigestion, was greatly tormented.
Seeing me bewildered, the children took me and went off to play.
