As long as the worlds endure, O Great Lord, so long—
May devotion to you, Janardana, always remain, for as long as your abode exists.
This alone is cherished in my heart and upheld by me.
Then, having heard the words of that sage Raibhya, I again—
O Earth, when the brahmin heard my words in this manner—
O Lord, the greatness of this foremost of sacred fords—
And whatever other sacred fords are established in this region—
Hear from me, O brahmin, in truth, that which you ask of me.
There is a sacred ford in the form of a water-lily, situated at Kubjāmra.
During the month of Kaumuda, as well as in Mārgaśīrṣa—
Whoever, whether woman, man, or neuter, gives up their life there—
Moreover, I shall tell you something else; listen, O Earth.
Whoever bathes there, O wide-eyed one, goes to the Nandana forest.
After a full thousand years, one is born in a noble family.
There, on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of Kartika, one gives up their life.
And now I shall tell you something else; listen to this, O Earth.
There, if one offers water at the Māyā-tīrtha, O illustrious Brahman,
One attains supreme nourishment, as if entering the abode of Kubera.
Or, if one dies there at the Māyā-tīrtha, O renowned one,
Again, I shall tell you something else; listen to this, O Earth.
Whoever bathes there on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of Vaiśākha,
Or, if one gives up their life there at the Sārṣapaka tīrtha,
Again, I shall tell you something else; listen, O beautiful-eyed one.
There, all becomes as the Ganges; the water becomes cool.
Having bathed, O lovely-hipped one, one goes to the realm of Soma and is honored.
Then, having fallen from heaven, one is born as a Brāhmaṇa.
Or, if one dies there in the month of Mārgaśīrṣa,
There, one constantly beholds me, radiant and four-armed.
Again, I shall tell you something else; listen to this, O Earth: If one becomes single-minded, devoted, and a follower of me,
Whoever bathes at that tīrtha at any time,
