Even at the time of death, this secret, spoken by Viṣṇu, should be kept hidden.
Whoever recites this daily, with firm resolve, for the duration of a kalpa,
Whoever performs the rites at the three junctions of the day according to this method,
Thus, in the Śrī Varāha Purāṇa, in the divine scripture, the one hundred and twentieth chapter named 'The Procedure for the Threefold Daily Mantra Worship' is concluded.
Now, the absence of birth: Hear from me, O Earth, that by which one does not enter the womb.
Even after performing great deeds, he does not praise himself.
But having performed my deeds, being capable and devoted to compassion,
He who endures cold, heat, wind, rain, hunger, and thirst,
Who is always devoted to his own wife and avoids the wives of others,
Who shares with discernment, and is always affectionate towards brāhmaṇas,
He does not go to a bad womb; he attains my world.
He who does not go to a lower womb, being devoted to my deeds,
Who is endowed with equanimity everywhere, regarding a clod, a stone, and gold as the same,
He never recognizes any harm done by another, at any time.
He who refrains from wrongdoing, whose resolve is firm and true—
Who approaches his own wife even at the proper season, only for the sake of offspring—
Such men do not enter the womb again, O beautiful one, but come to Me.
And the eternal dharma of those men who are serene—
Has been seen differently by Shukra, and also differently by Gautama.
It has been seen differently by Shankha, and also differently by Likhita.
By Agni and by Vayu, dharma has been seen otherwise, O Earth.
Kubera saw it differently, and so did Shandilya.
The ancestors saw it differently, and so too did Svayambhu.
Each maintains his own dharma, as spoken according to his own understanding.
One who stands firm on his own path of dharma should not revile the dharmic acts of others.
He does not enter the womb again, but comes to My world.
By this, men cross over the ocean of worldly existence and birth.
Those who are always helpful to themselves, and dear to gods, guests, and teachers—
He who never approaches a Brahmin woman, even in thought—
And who makes no distinction among all his sons—
