You are the sun, you are the turner of the ages, you are the ascetic, the great ascetic.
You are Ananta among serpents, and among snakes you are Takṣaka.
You are the playful tossing in homes, the household deities within dwellings.
You are the body of lightning, and among all things electric, you are the greatest brilliance.
You are faith, O Lord of the gods; you are the remover of faults, O Mādhava.
You are Garuḍa, you bear the great-souled, you are the ultimate refuge.
You are victory and triumph, the household deities within homes.
You are Bhaga, you are the sign of poison, you are the supreme, of the nature of the highest self.
You are worthy, O Lord of the worlds, to rescue me who am sunk.
Whoever, firm in vow, recites this hymn of Keśava—
A sonless man obtains a son, a poor man may gain wealth.
One should recite this hymn to the great-souled Mādhava at both twilights.
Thus, even if recited letter by letter, it will yield the intended result.
Thus ends the one hundred thirteenth chapter, named 'The Hymn to Viṣṇu,' in the glorious Varāha Purāṇa.
Then, as the blessed Varāha incarnation, the Lord was praised by sages skilled in mantras.
Thereafter, Mādhava entered into divine and proper meditation.
For your sake, O goddess, out of devotion and love, you have remained steadfast.
I will support you, along with your mountains, forests, and groves.
Thus comforting the Earth, Mādhava—
Six thousand in height, and in breadth, again three.
Seizing the earth with his left tusk, he lifted her up.
Some trees, clinging to her, fell, while others remained attached by their roots.
Resembling the pure radiance of the moon, she rested at the mouth of the Boar.
Thus, as he bore her—the earth along with the oceans—
Within her, indeed, is the measure of time and the divisions of the ages.
Then, from the earth, the imperishable Lord Viṣṇu, the blessed God, arose.
She, the cow, praised him—the ancient, supreme, and imperishable one.
O God, what is the nature of the support, and what is its proper use?
What is the nature of the evening twilight, and what is it when it is half-external?
O God, what is to be done in the establishment, invocation, and dismissal?
