सग्रहाणि च ऋक्षाणि कलाकाष्ठामुहूर्त्तकाः
With their planets and stars, the divisions of time—kalās, kāṣṭhās, and muhūrtas—
सग्रहा ये च नक्षत्रा कला कालमुहूर्त्तकाः
With their planets, and those stars, the divisions of time—kalās, kālas, and muhūrtas—
मासः पक्षमहोरात्रमृतुः संवत्सराण्यपि
Month, fortnight, day and night, season, and also the years,
कला काष्ठापि षण्मासाः षड्रसाश्चापि संयमः
Kalās, kāṣṭhās, the six months, and the six seasons as well, all are restrained by you.
त्वं मेरुर्मन्दरो विन्ध्यो मलयो दर्दुरो भवान्
You are Meru, Mandara, Vindhya, Malaya, and Dardura mountains.
धनुषां च पिनाकोऽसि सांख्ययोगोऽसि चोत्तमः 113.
Of bows you are Pināka; you are the supreme Sāṃkhya and Yoga.
संक्षिप्तश्चैव विस्तारो गोप्ता यज्ञश्च शश्वतः
You are both the contraction and the expansion, the protector, and the eternal sacrifice.
वेदानां सामवेदोऽसि साङ्गोपाङ्गो महाव्रतः
Of the Vedas, you are the Sāma Veda, complete with its limbs and sub-limbs, the great vow.
अमृतं सृजसे विष्णो येन लोकानधारयत्
You produce the nectar, O Viṣṇu, by which you uphold the worlds.
धेयाधेयं जगत्सर्वं यच्च किंचित् प्रवर्त्तते
All this world, what is to be meditated on and what is not, and whatever moves—
आदित्यस्त्वं युगावर्त्तास्त्वं तपस्वी महातपाः
You are the sun, you are the turner of the ages, you are the ascetic, the great ascetic.
अनन्तश्चासि नागानां सर्पाणामसि तक्षकः
You are Ananta among serpents, and among snakes you are Takṣaka.
क्रीडाविक्षेपणश्चासि गृहेषु गृहदेवताः
You are the playful tossing in homes, the household deities within dwellings.
साङ्गस्त्वं विद्युतीनां च वैद्युतानां महाद्युतिः
You are the body of lightning, and among all things electric, you are the greatest brilliance.
श्रद्धासि त्वं च देवेश दोषहन्तासि माधव 113.
You are faith, O Lord of the gods; you are the remover of faults, O Mādhava.
गरुडोऽसि महात्मानं वहसि त्वं परायणः
You are Garuḍa, you bear the great-souled, you are the ultimate refuge.
जयश्च विजयश्चासि गृहेषु गृहदेवताः
You are victory and triumph, the household deities within homes.
भगस्त्वं विषलिङ्गश्च परस्त्वं परमात्मकः
You are Bhaga, you are the sign of poison, you are the supreme, of the nature of the highest self.
मां त्वं मग्नामसि त्रातुं लोकनाथ इहार्हसि
You are worthy, O Lord of the worlds, to rescue me who am sunk.
य इदं पठते स्तोत्रं केशवस्य दृढव्रतः
Whoever, firm in vow, recites this hymn of Keśava—
अपुत्रो लभते पुत्रं दरिद्रो धनमाप्नुयात्
A sonless man obtains a son, a poor man may gain wealth.
उभे सन्ध्ये पठेत्स्तोत्रं माधवस्य महात्मनः
One should recite this hymn to the great-souled Mādhava at both twilights.
एवं तु अक्षरोक्तोऽपि भवेत्तु परिकल्पना
Thus, even if recited letter by letter, it will yield the intended result.
इति श्रीवराहपुराणे विष्णुस्तवनं नाम त्रयोदशाधिकशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the one hundred thirteenth chapter, named 'The Hymn to Viṣṇu,' in the glorious Varāha Purāṇa.
अथ श्रीवराहावतारः संस्तूयमानो भगवान्मुनिभिर्मन्त्रवादिभिः
Then, as the blessed Varāha incarnation, the Lord was praised by sages skilled in mantras.
ततो ध्यानं समास्थाय दिव्यं योग्यं च माधवः
Thereafter, Mādhava entered into divine and proper meditation.
तव देवि प्रियार्थाय भक्त्या यं त्वं व्यवस्थिता
For your sake, O goddess, out of devotion and love, you have remained steadfast.
अहं त्वां धारयिष्यामि सशैलवनकाननाम्
I will support you, along with your mountains, forests, and groves.
एवमाश्वासयित्वा तु वसुधां स च माधवः
Thus comforting the Earth, Mādhava—
षट् सहस्राणि चोच्छ्रायो विस्तारेण पुनस्त्रयः
Six thousand in height, and in breadth, again three.
