शुभव्रतं धन्यव्रतं कान्तिव्रतमतः स्मृतम्

The auspicious vow, the blessed vow, and thus the vow of radiance is remembered.

शान्तिव्रतं कामव्रतमारोग्यव्रतमेव च

The vow of peace, the vow of desire, and also the vow of health.

पुराणस्तवनं चैव नारायणेश्वरेण च

And the praise of the ancient one, and of Narayana Ishvara.

ततो भुवनकोशस्य वर्णनं समुदाहृतम्

Then the description of the cosmic egg is recounted.

भारतादिसमुद्देशः सृष्टिसम्भाग एव च

The section on Bharata and others, and also the division of creation.

शक्तिमाहात्म्यकथनं महिषासुरघातनम्

The narration of the greatness of Shakti, and the slaying of Mahishasura.

श्वेतोपाख्यानमत्रोक्तं तिलधेनुविधिस्ततः

Here the story of Shveta is told, then the rite of the sesame cow.

ततश्च शर्क्कराधेनोर्मधुधेनोस्ततः परम् 218.

Then the sugar-cow, and after that the honey-cow, in due order.

धान्यधेनुश्च भगवच्छास्त्रलक्षणमेव च

And the grain-cow, and the characteristics of the divine scriptures.

ततो भागवतानां च लक्षणं परिकीर्त्तितम्

Then the characteristics of the devotees are described.

नानामन्त्रास्ततः प्रोक्ता देवोपकरणे विधिः

Then various mantras are taught, and the rite for divine implements.

वियोनिगर्भमोक्षश्च कोकामुखप्रशंसनम्

The liberation from the womb of the sky, and the praise of the Koka-mukha.

रूपकारणमत्रोक्तं मायाचक्रं ततः परम्

Here the cause of forms is told, and then the supreme wheel of illusion.

कंकृताञ्जनदर्पाणां मन्त्राः प्रोक्तास्ततः परम्

Then, the mantras for those who have applied collyrium or looked into a mirror are described.

दन्तकाष्ठाद्यकरणे प्रायश्चित्तं ततः परम्

Next, the expiation for failing to use a tooth-stick and similar acts is given.

नीलवस्त्रपरिधाने क्रोधयुक्तस्य चार्चने

The rules for wearing blue garments and for worship performed in anger are stated.

कृष्णवस्त्रपरिधाने धौतवस्त्रस्य धारणे

The rules for wearing black garments and for donning washed clothes are described.

दीपोच्छिष्टस्य तैलस्य करलेपेन पूजने 218.

The use of oil left from a lamp and its application by hand in worship is explained.

पिण्याकभक्षणे चैव उपानद्गूढपादके

Also, the consumption of oil-cake and the covering of the feet with shoes are mentioned.

सूकरक्षेत्रमहिमा ततो जम्बूकगृध्रयोः

Then, the greatness of the Sūkara-kshetra, and of the jackal and vulture, is described.

बदरीषण्डमाहात्म्यं गुह्यधर्मप्रकीर्तनम्

The glory of the Badarī hermitage and the exposition of secret dharmas are recounted.

सोमेश्वरस्य महिमा मुक्तिक्षेत्रस्य चापि हि।। त्रिवेण्याश्चैव माहात्म्यं माहात्म्यं गण्डकीभवम्

The greatness of Someśvara and of the field of liberation, as well as the glory of the Triveṇī and the Gaṇḍakī river, are described.

चक्रतीर्थस्य महिमा हरिक्षेत्रसमुद्भवः

The greatness of Cakra-tīrtha and its origin from the field of Hari are told.

गोनिष्क्रमस्य महिमा द्वारवत्यास्ततः परम्

The glory of Goniṣkrama and then of Dvāravatī is described.

मथुरातीर्थमाहात्म्यं प्रादुर्भावस्तथैव च

The greatness of the Mathurā tīrtha and its manifestation are likewise narrated.

देवारण्यस्य माहात्म्यं चक्रतीर्थस्य चोत्तमम्

The glory of Devāraṇya and the supreme greatness of Cakra-tīrtha are described.

तथा आख्यायिकायुक्तं विश्रान्तेश्च ततः परम्

Likewise, stories are included, and then the account of Viśrānti is given.

यमुनोद्भेदमहिमा कालिञ्जरसमुद्भवाः 218.
