The one who follows this sacred path rejoices across the seven continents and reaches realms hidden from ordinary sight. By renouncing all attachments, he ultimately attains my own world. In the holy place of Prabhāsa, those who listen with devotion, even by the ocean’s edge, are not threatened by dangers such as crocodiles. When a man offers balls of food into clear waters at this site, his ancestors receive the offerings, even if they have not yet arrived—such is the certainty of this act. Only the righteous truly receive these offerings; this is beyond doubt. Even if the waters are deep and boundless, just a span’s breadth suffices for the ritual to bear fruit. Such a soul delights for a time in the realm of Indra, the king of the gods, and after leaving Indra’s world, he comes to my own. But this vision is not granted to evil-doers; only those who perform good deeds are able to see these realms. In these sacred places, one beholds silver and golden lotuses, radiant and wondrous, without any doubt. Four streams flow here, descending from the Maṇipūra mountain, and in their midst, the devotee delights in the worlds of the Vaikhānasas, the ancient seers. When he has enjoyed the fruits of these worlds, he abandons them too, and attains my world. All these wonders—seen in the pools and upon the Maṇipūra mountain—are not revealed to sinners when they bathe; the blessings do not descend as they did for the virtuous. A single stream also falls from Maṇipūra mountain, and the one who is free from attachment finds joy in the abode of Varuṇa, the lord of waters. But after leaving Varuṇa’s realm, he is honored in my world. It is only the pure-hearted who can perceive these blessings; those burdened by sin are unable to see them. Here, swans are seen, radiant as moonlight and jasmine flowers. Those who witness such wonders attain supreme perfection on earth—this is certain. Here too, the pure-hearted Vṛṣṇis have arrived at my own abode. The virtuous soul delights in the worlds of the sages, and there is no doubt about this. From the kadamba tree, a stream falls, having emerged earlier, and as the sun rises in the east, it reveals beautiful flowers. Those who witness these attain supreme perfection—this is beyond doubt. At this sacred site, five streams fall upon Maṇipūra, and the virtuous delight in the heavenly realm for ten thousand years. Yet, after enjoying all the pleasures of heaven, they abandon those realms and come to my world. However, those devoted to my deeds alone do not seek these enjoyments. Here, there is a sound heard that brings delight to both mind and ear. It is a joy easily attained by the virtuous, but difficult for the sinful. This wondrous place blossoms with beauty when the sun rises, and those who witness it attain supreme accomplishment on earth. In all worlds, the places where I have sported are renowned. There are rows of multicolored stones and ten directions adorned with caves. At this sacred site, a man should perform ablutions after residing there for six periods of time. Then, established in my deeds, he departs from this life. Now, O noble lady, listen as I reveal to you this wondrous tale.
