Leaving behind even the world of Brahmā, one is received with honor in my own divine realm. There, the joyful sound of cows is heard, bringing happiness as a result of my own deeds. A great and auspicious sound arises—of this, there can be no doubt. Whoever performs virtuous actions is swiftly freed from all sin. Released from curses and the burning pains of suffering, one is joined by the hosts of Maruts, the divine winds. O Devi, I have explained all this to you in detail, wishing to show you my favor. For those who walk my path, as well as for myself, this brings ever-increasing delight. Of all gains, this is the highest; of all dharmas, this is the supreme dharma. O illustrious one, it bestows brilliance, prosperity, fortune, and the fulfillment of all desires. For thousands of years, such a one is honored in my world. Through these merits, seven times seven families are delivered. This teaching should be given to a son, to a worthy disciple, or to one who knows how to serve. Whether it is a whole verse or even a single line, whoever desires the highest state should receive it. With supreme affection, I remain, having taken my seat in the eastern direction. Thus, this secret—hidden and bringing happiness in all actions—has been revealed. O highly fortunate one, you have inquired about my sacred field. Thus concludes the one hundred and forty-seventh chapter, entitled “The Greatness of Goniṣkramaṇa,” in the divine scripture of the Śrī Varāha Purāṇa. Now, having heard of the greatness of Goniṣkramaṇa—most secret, unsurpassed, and filled with praise for the Lord—the Earth herself spoke: “O Lord of the Universe, hearing this, I am completely fulfilled. Yet, O Nārāyaṇa, Supreme Lord, please tell me further the supreme secret.” Śrī Varāha replied, “I am free from all envy; therefore, I am the Supreme Lord. This scripture, O highly fortunate one, I have set forth as a divine play.” Dharaṇī responded, “Just so, just so, O immeasurable Lord Varāha; you delight the heart and mind, O Janārdana.” Hearing the words of the Earth, the great-minded and righteous Lord declared, “Now I shall reveal this secret, which brings happiness to all the world. It is known as ‘Stutasvāmi,’ my supreme and secret field. I am the son of Vasudeva, born from the womb of Devakī. I will have five excellent disciples, wise and discerning. When I descend to earth, they will establish me as the embodiment of Dharma. And Bhṛgu, O highly fortunate one, will walk my path as well. By the power of their knowledge, they will always make my glory shine. As time passes, devoted to my actions, I shall grant them a boon, each according to what dwells in his heart. Where Dharma is firmly established, there the scripture of the Self will be upheld. By your grace, O Lord, may this world proceed rightly. There is no doubt, for you all are dear to me. Therefore, these disciples will proclaim all that is dear to the devotees of Bhagavān. Thus, in all the scriptures, the Varāha teaching is esteemed as clarified butter among offerings. In this way, I have spoken equally with myself, indeed, through my own Self. This supreme and subtle knowledge is found among the devoted ones of the Earth.
