O noble goddess, listen as I recount the sacred wonders of this land, where the divine streams descend amidst the mountain groves. In one such hallowed place, five pure streams fall together, sheltered among the trees and rocks. If a soul is born upon the revered Kuśa Island and is devoted to My deeds, know that, upon departing from Kuśa Island, he attains the world of Brahmā himself. There, after fasting for five nights and bathing in those sanctifying waters, one who follows My path is raised to dwell in the radiant realms of the Sun. Surpassing even the world of the Sun, he ultimately reaches My own supreme abode. In another sacred spot, a single powerful stream pours forth from a mass of rocks. One who fasts for seven nights, dedicating himself to My deeds, is blessed to wander freely across the seven continents, upheld by devotion to My actions. When he transcends even these seven continents, he too attains My world. Elsewhere, an auspicious stream emerges from a mountain cave, flowing down to the earth. Those who are born as Vaiśyas or Śūdras, steadfast in their devotion to My actions, and who perform sacrificial rites with companions and proper gifts, attain Me through their earnestness. There is yet another place where a single stream falls, sheltered at the root of a mighty banyan tree. As many as there are leaves upon that supreme peak’s banyan, so many are the souls who remain there, faithfully following My path. Then, taking on a form blazing with spiritual fire, they ascend to My world. In another revered site, a thick stream, equal in volume to a water jar, pours down. One who knows the four Vedas, devoted to My actions, is born there. Bathing in those waters after remaining for five nights, or giving up his life there in devotion, leads the soul to a supreme secret of Mine, called Yamavyasanaka. Bathing there, even after staying for just one night, or departing from life while steadfast in My actions, brings the highest spiritual fruit. Within this sacred field is a place renowned as Mātaṅga, most dear to Me. Those who bathe there, having stayed for just one night, are reborn as learned and pure souls, followers of My path of action. Leaving behind the realm of Kimpurusha, they too attain My world. There is a spot where a single stream flows, joined by the sacred Kauśikī river. One who bathes there, according to My deeds, is born in the world of Indra. By the power of bathing in those waters—of this there is no doubt—one surpasses even the world of Indra and attains My own supreme realm. On the stone surface of Kokāśilā, this place is known as Śakra-Rudra. Further, O noble one, there is another great and special secret place within this field, known as Daṃṣṭrāṃkura, where the Kokā river emerges. Blessed is he who offers water there and remains for a day and a night; should he depart from life in that state, steadfast in My actions, the highest spiritual fruit is his in that great secret field. From the heart of the mountain, water cascades down into the Kokā river. There, by offering water upon the earth, the devotee severs the bonds of worldly existence and is set free. Thus, O beautiful one, these are the sacred places where the divine streams flow, each offering its own path to liberation for those who are devoted to My actions and follow My way.
