Listen, O Earth, to this wondrous tale. When one falls from heaven, the power of a sacred tīrtha brings liberation. Especially on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Vaiśākha, such a soul is freed from birth and death, from fatigue and fear, attaining a state beyond all suffering. Now, let me tell you something further—hear this, O auspicious Earth. I shall describe the sign by which this sacred place is recognized: In the month of Māgha, on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight, one may freely come and go at the holy waters, unhindered. If someone dies there on that auspicious day, their liberation is assured. Again, listen, O Earth, to another revelation. Within the grove of Kubjāmra, a place dear to me, there is a sign by which its holiness is known: a tortoise, as large as a chariot wheel, moves about there. Bathing at this spot, O lovely-hipped one, grants a great and excellent reward. Here, without any doubt, one attains the fruit of ten lotuses, always achieving perfection and ascending to my world. This sacred place is called Agnitīrtha, established in Kubjāmra. Its greatness is celebrated in the months of Kaumudā and Mārgaśīrṣa, and for those who are present in the month of Mādhava at the proper time. Let me describe its sign—listen, O Earth, with single-pointed attention. For truly, none knows my scripture, nor does anyone else comprehend it fully. Gather your mind and hear this: The Agni-tirtha is radiant and wholly Vaishnava. By merely bathing there, O noble one, its reward is attained without doubt. If one stays for twenty days and nights, they are granted passage to my world. This is the sign by which the wise recognize my devotion, bringing happiness. In the hot season, the waters become cool—such is the wonder of this place. By its virtue, people cross the dreadful ocean of worldly existence. There is also the tirtha known as Vayavya, born of Dharma. Whoever bathes there and performs daily water-rites attains the full fruit of the Vajapeya sacrifice. For ten or five days, this is my established rule. Such a person is born with four arms and is established in my world. Now hear the sign by which this tirtha is known—the greatest of all. On the twelfth day, it is recognized, and its name is Shakra-tirtha, the liberator from worldly existence. Shakra himself dwells in that world, holding the thunderbolt—of this, there is no doubt. After fasting for ten nights, one goes to my world. Focus your mind in single-pointed concentration and listen, O beautiful one, to this truth: The mark of Śakra's sacred place has now been described to you, O Earth.
