Listen, O beautiful and auspicious one, as I recount to you the sacred glories of the holy places and their wondrous effects. At the Sārṣapaka tīrtha, whoever bathes on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of Vaiśākha is greatly blessed. And if a person should give up their life at this very tīrtha, their merit is immeasurable. But hear further, for I shall reveal more to you. At Sārṣapaka, the waters become as sanctified as those of the Ganges—they are cool and pure. When one bathes in these waters, O lovely-hipped one, that person is honored in the realm of Soma. Afterwards, when their time in heaven is complete, they take birth as a Brāhmaṇa upon the earth. Should anyone die there during the auspicious month of Mārgaśīrṣa, they behold me—radiant and four-armed—unceasingly. Now listen again, O Earth, for I will tell you another secret. If a person, with single-minded devotion, becomes my follower and bathes at that tīrtha at any time, the power of the place lifts them to heaven. And if, on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of Vaiśākha, they perform their ablutions there, then, by the sanctity of the tīrtha, they are freed from birth and death, from fatigue and from all fear. Let me tell you more, O Earth. I shall describe the signs by which this tīrtha is recognized, so listen closely. In the month of Māgha, on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight, the sacred waters grant a special freedom—one may come and go as one wishes. If a person dies there on that very day, their liberation is assured. Again, O Earth, attend to my words. In the grove of Kubjāmra, there is a place especially dear to me. I will reveal its sign to you: there moves a tortoise the size of a chariot wheel. Bathing at this spot bestows a great and excellent result, and there is no doubt about the attainment of its fruits. One who bathes there gains the merit equal to ten lotuses. Such a person always attains perfection and ultimately reaches my own world. This sacred place is called Agnitīrtha, established in Kubjāmra. Its power shines forth especially in the months of Kaumudā, Mārgaśīrṣa, and Mādhava, when one visits at the proper time. Listen carefully, O Earth, and focus your mind, for the knowledge of my scripture is known to none but me, and it is a rare treasure. The Agni-tirtha is radiant, wholly Vaishnava, and by merely bathing there, one receives its full reward—there can be no doubt. If one remains there for twenty days and nights, they are sure to attain my world. The wise recognize this devotion as the source of happiness. In the hot season, the waters become cool—this is a sure sign of its sanctity, and it is by this tīrtha that people cross over the dreadful ocean of worldly existence. Finally, know that there is another tīrtha, Vayavya, born of Dharma. Whoever bathes there and performs the daily water-rites is also greatly blessed. Thus, O Earth, have I revealed to you the wondrous power and the signs of these sacred places, by which the devoted cross beyond all suffering and reach my eternal abode.
