O Earth, listen as I recount the glories of these sacred places and times. Whoever—be they woman, man, or of any other nature—gives up their life at these holy spots attains great merit. There is more I wish to share with you, so heed my words. Whoever bathes at this tīrtha, O wide-eyed one, is transported to the celestial Nandana forest. After enjoying a thousand years in those heavenly realms, that soul is born again into a noble family. And should one, on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of Kartika, relinquish their life there, their blessing is even greater. But listen further, O Earth. If one offers water at the sacred Māyā-tīrtha, O illustrious Brahman, that person attains supreme nourishment, as if welcomed into the very abode of Kubera, the lord of wealth. And if one should die there at Māyā-tīrtha, their merit is profound. Again, O Earth, listen as I reveal more. Whoever bathes at this tīrtha on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of Vaiśākha, or gives up their life at the Sārṣapaka tīrtha, gains exceptional merit. Let me share another wondrous truth, O beautiful-eyed one: there, all the waters become as pure and cooling as the Ganges herself. Whoever bathes in that sacred water, O lovely-hipped one, is honored in the realm of Soma. When their time in heaven is complete, they are born again as a Brāhmaṇa. If, instead, one gives up their life there during the month of Mārgaśīrṣa, they are granted the vision of me, radiant and four-armed, constantly before them. Listen again, O Earth: if one becomes single-minded and devoted, a true follower of mine, and bathes at that tīrtha at any time, then, even after their heavenly sojourn, by the power of that sacred place, especially on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of Vaiśākha, they are freed from birth and death, from fatigue and from all fear. Now, O Earth, let me describe to you the sign by which this tīrtha is known. In the month of Māgha, on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight, at that sacred water, one may come and go freely, unimpeded. If one dies there on that auspicious day, their merit is assured. Hear further, O Earth. In the grove of Kubjāmra, a place dear to me, there is a special sign: a tortoise moves there, as large as a chariot wheel. Bathing at this spot, O lovely-hipped one, bestows a great and excellent reward. There is no doubt that whoever bathes there attains this blessing. A man who does so receives the fruit of ten lotuses, always gains perfection, and ultimately reaches my own world. This sacred place is known as Agnitīrtha, established in the grove of Kubjāmra. In the months of Kaumudā and Mārgaśīrṣa, and for whoever is present in the month of Mādhava at the proper time, the blessings are even more potent. Let me describe to you its sign, O Earth, so that all may recognize and revere this holy site.
