रोगोवान्यो न सा जिह्वा या न वक्ति हरेर्गुणान्
That tongue which does not speak the virtues of Hari is not a tongue, but something else diseased.
यः पादपङ्कजं विष्णोर्न पूजयति भक्तितः
He who does not worship Viṣṇu’s lotus feet with devotion—
मृता अपि न शोच्यास्ते सत्यं सत्यं मयोदितम्
Even if they die, such people are not to be mourned; this I declare to be true, true indeed.
दृश्यं स्पृस्यमदृश्यञ्च तत्सर्वं केशवात्मकम्
All that is seen, touched, and unseen—indeed, all of it is the essence of Keśava.
तेनार्चिता न संदेहो लोकाः सामरदानवाः
By worshipping Him, without doubt, all the worlds, including gods and demons, are worshipped.
तथा गुणा हि देवस्य त्वसंख्यातास्तु चक्रिणः
Likewise, the virtues of the Lord, the wielder of the discus, are indeed countless.
समाश्रयन्ते भवभीतिनाशनं संसारगर्ते न पतन्ति ते पुनः
Those who take refuge in Him, destroyer of the fear of becoming, do not fall again into the pit of worldly existence.
न ते परिभवं यान्ति न मृत्योरुद्विजन्ति च
They do not suffer disgrace, nor do they fear death.
न तेषां यमसालोक्यं न च ते नरकौकसः
They do not go to the realm of Yama, nor do they dwell in hell.
विप्रा दानवशार्दूल विष्णुभक्ता व्रजन्ति याम्
O best of Dānavas, O brāhmaṇas, the devotees of Viṣṇu attain that state.
ततो ऽदिकां गतिं यान्ति विष्णुभक्ता नरोत्तमाः
Thereafter, the best of men devoted to Viṣṇu attain an even higher state.
सा गतिर्गदिता दैत्य भगवत्सेविनामपि
That state, O Daitya, has been described even for those who serve the Blessed Lord.
प्रविशन्ति महात्मानं तद्भक्ता नान्यचेतसः
Those devoted to him, with minds fixed on nothing else, enter the Supreme Soul.
शुचयस्ते महात्मानस्तीर्थभूता भवन्ति ते
Those great souls are pure; they themselves become like sacred places.
वैकुण्ठं खड्गपरशुं भवबन्धसमुच्छिदम्
Vaikuntha is the sword and axe that completely severs the bonds of worldly existence.
क्षेत्रेषु वसते नित्यं क्रीडन्नास्ते ऽमितद्युतिः
He, of boundless radiance, always dwells and sports in the holy places.
येषां विष्णुः प्रियोन्त्यन्ते विष्णोः सततं प्रियाः
Those for whom Vishnu is dear at the end, are always dear to Vishnu.
ध्यायेद् दामोदरं यस्तु भक्तिनम्रोर्ऽचयेत वा
Whoever meditates on Damodara or worships him with devoted humility—
स्तुवन्त्यप्यभिशृण्वन्ति दुर्गण्यतितरन्ति ते
Even those who praise or merely listen to him cross over great difficulties.
प्रहृष्यति मनो येषां दुर्गाण्यतितरन्ति ते
Those whose minds rejoice in him cross over great obstacles.
ते यान्ति नियतं स्थानं यत्र योगेश्वरो हरिः
They surely reach the abode where Hari, the lord of yoga, resides.
सा तु जन्मसहस्रेण न तपोभिरवाप्यते
That place cannot be attained by austerities, even in a thousand births.
यस्य नास्ति परा भक्तिः सततं मधुसूदने
For one who does not have supreme devotion to Madhusudana at all times—
वृथा तपश्च कीर्तिश्च यो द्वेष्टि मधुसूदनम्
For one who hates Madhusudana, austerity and fame are in vain.
नमो नारायणायेति मन्त्रः सर्वार्थसाधकः
The mantra 'Salutations to Narayana' accomplishes all purposes.
येषामिन्दीवरश्यामो हृदयस्थो जनार्दनः
Those in whose hearts Janardana, dark as a blue lotus, dwells—
नारायणं नमस्कृत्य सर्वकर्माणि कारयेत्
Having bowed to Narayana, one should perform all actions.
ते नाम स्मरणाद्विष्णोर्नासं यान्ति महासुर
By remembering the name of Vishnu, they do not go to ruin, O great asura.
नारायणप्रणामस्य कलां नार्हन्ति षोडशीम्
Even sixteen parts do not equal the merit of saluting Narayana.
तानि सर्वाण्यवाप्नोति विष्णोर्नामानुकीर्तनात्
By reciting the names of Vishnu, one attains all those things.
