निहन्ताप्यथबा शास्ता देवदेव भविष्यति
He alone will be the slayer or the chastiser, the god of gods.
इष्टानिष्टप्रसंगेभ्यो ज्ञानतो ऽज्ञानतो ऽपि वा
Whether through knowledge or ignorance, by association with what is desired or undesired,
महापातकसंज्ञं वा तथा चैवोपपातकम्
Whether it is called a great sin, or likewise a subsidiary sin,
नाशयेद् योगिनां सर्वमामपात्रमिवाम्भसि
Let all of it be destroyed for the yogins, as raw meat in water.
अहन्यहनि यो दद्यात् पठत्येतच्च तत्समम्
Whoever gives or recites this daily, it is equal to both.
विष्णुलोकमवाप्नोति सत्यमेतन्मयोदितम्
He attains the world of Viṣṇu—this is truly what I declare.
राक्षसस्त्रस्तसर्वाङ्गं तथा मामेष मुञ्चतु
Let this demon, terrified in all his limbs, thus release me.
अकामेन द्विजो भूयस्तमाह रजनीचरम्
The twice-born, without desire, again addressed the night-wanderer.
विष्णोः सारस्वतं स्तोत्रं यज्जगाद सरस्वती
The hymn to Viṣṇu composed by Sarasvatī—
जगादैनं स्तवं विष्णोः सर्वेषां चोपशान्तिदम्
She spoke this hymn to Viṣṇu, which brings peace to all.
ततः शापापनोदं तु स्तुते लप्स्यसि केशवे
Then, through praise, you shall obtain the removal of the sin born of the curse, from Keśava.
स्तुहि भक्तिं दृढां कृत्वा ततः पापाद् विमोक्ष्यसे
Praise him with firm devotion, and then you will be freed from sin.
स्तुतो हि भक्त्या नॄणां वै सर्वपापहरो हरिः
For when praised with devotion, Hari indeed removes all sins of people.
तदैव तपसे श्रीमान् शालग्राममगाद् वशी
At that very moment, the glorious one, self-controlled, went to Śālagrāma for austerity.
देवक्रियारतिर्भूत्वा तपस्तेपे निशाचरः
Becoming devoted to divine rites, the night-wanderer performed austerities.
सर्वपापविनिर्मुक्तो विष्णुलोकमवाप्तवान्
Freed from all sin, he attained the world of Viṣṇu.
विप्रवक्त्रस्थया सम्यक्सरस्वत्या समीरितम्
Properly uttered by Sarasvatī, dwelling in the mouth of the Brāhmaṇa.
पठष्यति स सर्वेभ्यः पापेभ्यो मोक्षमाप्स्यति
Whoever recites this will obtain liberation from all sins.
वासुदेव नमस्ते ऽस्तु बहुरूप नमो ऽस्तु ते
O Vāsudeva, salutations to you; O multiformed one, I bow to you.
श्रीनिवास नमस्ते ऽस्तु नमस्ते भूतभावन
O Śrīnivāsa, salutations to you; salutations to you, creator of beings.
ध्रुवध्वज नमस्तो ऽस्तु सत्यध्वज नमो ऽस्तु ते
O bearer of the steadfast banner, salutations to you; O bearer of the banner of truth, I bow to you.
तालध्वज नमस्ते ऽस्तु नमस्ते गरुहध्वज
O bearer of the palm-banner, salutations to you; salutations to you, bearer of the heavy banner.
नमो जयन्त विजय जयानन्त पराजित
Salutations to Jayanta, to Vijaya, to Jayānanta, to Parājita.
अनाद्याद्यन्त मध्यान्त नमस्ते पद्मजप्रिय
O one without beginning, beginning, end, and middle, salutations to you, beloved of the lotus-born.
शुभञ्जय नमस्ते ऽस्तु नमस्ते ऽस्तु धनञ्जय
O Śubhañjaya, salutations to you; salutations to you, Dhanañjaya.
नमो हिरण्यगर्भाय पद्मगर्भाय ते नमः
Salutations to you, Hiraṇyagarbha; salutations to you, Padmagarbha.
कालनाभ नमस्तुभ्यं महानाभ नमो नमः
O Kālanābha, salutations to you; O Mahānābha, I bow to you.
धर्मावास जलावास श्रीनिवास नमो ऽस्तु ते
O abode of Dharma, abode of water, Śrīnivāsa, salutations to you.
सेनाध्यक्ष नमस्तुभ्यं कालाध्यक्ष नमो नमः
Salutations to you, O Lord of the army; repeated salutations to you, O Lord of time.
वनमालाधर हरे नमस्ते धरणीधर
O Hari, wearer of the forest garland, salutations to you, O bearer of the earth.
