पुनर्वसुरथाङ्गुल्यो नखाः सार्पं तथोच्यते
The fingers are Punarvasu, and the nails are said to be Sārpa.
मुखसंस्थस्तथा पुष्यः स्वातिर्दन्ताः प्रकीर्तिताः
Puṣya is situated at the mouth, and Svāti is named as the teeth.
मृगशीर्षं नयनयो रूपधारिणि तिष्ठति
In the form-bearing one, Mṛgaśīrṣa is established in the eyes.
शिरोरुहस्था चैवार्द्रा नक्षत्राङ्गमिदं हरेः
And in the hair on the head, the moist lunar mansion is said to be a part of Hari.
संपूजितो हरिः कामान् विदधाति यथेप्सितान्
When worshipped, Hari grants desires as wished.
नक्षत्रसन्निधौ दद्याद् विप्रेन्द्राय च भोजनम्
At the conjunction of the lunar mansion, one should offer food to the foremost Brāhmaṇa.
दोहदे च हविष्यान्नं पूर्ववद् द्विजभोजनम्
And at the time of longing, one should give sacrificial food and, as before, feed the twice-born.
सलिलं शिशिरं तत्र दोहदे च प्रकीर्तितम्
Cool water is prescribed there at the time of longing.
दोदहे च पयो गव्यं देयं च द्विजभोजनम्
At the time of burning, cow's milk should be given, and food to the twice-born.
देयञ्च दोहदं विष्णोः सुगन्धकुसुमोदकम्
At the time of longing for Viṣṇu, fragrant flowers and water should be offered.
गुडं सलेहकं दद्याद् दोहदे देवकीर्तितम्
Jaggery with something to lick should be given at the time of longing, as declared by the gods.
अनुराधासु जठरं षष्ठिकान्नं च दोहदे
In Anurādhā, the belly; at the time of longing, rice of sixty days should be given.
भुजयुग्मं विशाखासु दोहदे परमोदनम्
In Viśākhā, the pair of arms; at the time of longing, excellent rice pudding.
पुनर्वसावङ्गुलीश्च पटोलस्तत्र दोहदे
In Punarvasu, the fingers; there, snake-gourd at the time of longing.
ज्येष्ठायां पूजयेद् ग्रीवां दोहदे तिलमोदकम्
In Jyeṣṭhā, one should worship the neck; at the time of longing, sesame-sweet rice pudding.
पुष्ये मुखं पूजयेत दोहदे घृतपायसम्
In Puṣya, one should worship the mouth; at the time of longing, rice cooked with ghee and milk.
दातव्या केशवप्रीत्यै ब्रह्मणस्य च भोजनम्
Food should be given for the pleasure of Keśava and also to a Brāhmaṇa.
प्रियङ्गुरक्तशाल्यन्नं दोहदं मधुविद्विषः
Rice of red śāli mixed with priyangu is the desired offering for the enemy of Madhu.
मृगोत्तमाङ्गे नयने मृगमांसं च दोहदे
In the best part of the deer, the eyes; at the time of longing, deer meat.
भरणीषु शिरः पूज्यं चारु भक्तं च दोहदे
In Bharaṇī, the head should be worshipped, and fine cooked rice at the time of longing.
विप्रांश्च भोजयेद् भक्तया दोहदे च गुडार्द्रकम्
He should feed the Brahmins with devotion, offering them ginger mixed with jaggery during the craving.
पारिते दक्षिणान्दद्यात् स्त्रीपुंसोश्चारुवाससी
Afterwards, he should give them gifts, and provide fine garments for both women and men.
घृतपात्रं च मतिमन् ब्राह्मणाय निवेदयेत्
The wise one should present a vessel of ghee to the Brahmin.
नक्षत्रमय एवैष पुरुषः शाश्वतो मतः
This person is considered to be composed of the stars and eternal.
पूर्वं कृतं हि भृगुणा सर्वपातकनाशनम्
This was first performed by Bhrigu and destroys all sins.
सुरूपाम्यभिजायन्ते प्रत्यङ्गङ्गानि चैव हि
Beautiful offspring are born, and all limbs become well-formed.
पितृमातृसमुत्थं च तत्सर्वं हन्ति केशवः
Keśava destroys all that arises from both father and mother.
अनन्तां मनसः प्रीतिं रूपं चातीव शोभनम्
He grants boundless joy of mind and exceedingly splendid form.
ददाति नक्षत्रपुमान् पूजितस्तु जनार्दनः
When worshipped, Janārdana, the lord of the stars, bestows these.
अरुन्धती महाभागा ख्यातिमग्र्यां जगाम ह
Arundhatī, greatly fortunate, attained supreme fame.
