They stood in order, worshipping the three-eyed one and offering praises.
He rose together with those emaciated women and respectfully greeted them.
Joyful, he entered comfortably along with the kings.
After bathing at the bank of the Godavari, he wished to see Hatakeshvara.
She too, seeing her mother, became delighted, radiant in beauty.
Out of affection, she repeatedly embraced her, her eyes filled with tears.
Go, lead Guhyaka to the great Añjana mountain.
Quickly bring Parjanya, king of the Gandharvas, from heaven.
O best of monkeys, you should bring Gālava here.
Having gone to Añjana and informed him, he went to the mountain of the immortals.
At the holy place of the seven Godavaris, the monkey entered the netherworld.
Emerging from the netherworld, the swift one roamed the earth.
Leaping up, he quickly brought water from the seven Godavaris.
He also saw Nandayantī standing there, goddess-like.
And those best of kings, having honored that ascetic rich in austerity,
When they had sat down, the monkeys were then invited.
Seeing them arrive, those daughters with wide eyes gazed intently.
Among them, Nandayantī and the others, along with their father, beheld the beautiful-faced maiden.
Then that sage, Satyadhvaja, spoke these truthful words to her.
Hearing those words, she became overwhelmed with shame and lost her composure.
Because I have become a bad daughter, I will therefore abandon this body.
O Brahmin, save me, whose mind is afflicted by sin.
Then the sage said to the slender maiden, 'Do not despair now.'
Your father, the increaser of the gods, will be born to you again.
When the sage of purified mind had spoken these words,
'Daughter, give up your sorrow. In ten months, a son will be born to you.'
Thus addressed, Citrāṅgadā then became joyful and radiant.
All those slender maidens remained for that entire time.
Then, when ten months had passed, the Apsarases arrived.
When the child was born, because of the monkey, Viśvakarman was also summoned.
