Meanwhile, Indra saw the sage Narada,
Seeing him endowed with humility and devoted to celibacy,
You have seen all this—the three worlds: earth, atmosphere, and heaven.
There is no one equal to you in this world, having spoken thus to the supreme lord.
By yoga, austerity, and devotion, you have pleased him.
Therefore, I wish to ask; let my resolve be told to me.
Having heard thus, Narada meditated and reflected.
O king of the gods, the sacred, supreme field is remembered.
Therefore, the field of Mahakala is said to be ten times greater.
Having heard this, the thousand-eyed one described it to the sage.
Jiṣṇu stood in the sky, seen together with the gods.
Sixty crore thousands and sixty crore hundreds,
A great fault certainly arises from crossing the nirmālya.
Fearing the fault of nirmālya, those gods did not enter the field.
Accompanied by various groups, sung by kinnaras with diverse songs,
With eyes wide open, they saw: 'Who is this blessed one, of great austerity?'
All the gods asked, 'Who is this group resembling Rudra?'
Then questioned by all the gods, whose minds were filled with wonder,
Before the gods, O Devi, everything was told completely at that time.
With joy, he granted me the status of a gaṇa, which is very rare.
The gods respectfully asked that, O best among gaṇas.
In the sacred Mahākāla forest, you crossed over while wandering.
That means was explained before the gods at that time.
He stands as a portion of Īśāna, the lord god.
The great sin that arises from crossing the nirmālya,
Then all the groups of gods again in the Mahākāla forest,
As they saw that liṅga, which destroys all faults, the gods' fault was destroyed; therefore, they gave it this name.
This was told to us by the wise Nāgacaṇḍa.
Having uttered his name, the gods went to their supreme heavenly abode; the sin arising from stepping over the discarded offerings is destroyed for them.
Those who see the god Candeśvara of the serpents day by day—
