तत्सर्वं श्रोतुमिच्छामि विस्तरेण तपोधन
I wish to hear all this in detail, O ascetic rich in austerity.
उमामहेश्वरसंवादं देवयात्रादिकर्मसु
The dialogue between Umā and Maheśvara regarding the rites of divine pilgrimages,
यानि तीर्थानि विद्यंते यानि लिंगानि संति वै
Whatever holy places exist, whatever liṅgas are present,
क्षेत्रमाद्यं महादेवि ममातीव प्रियं सदा
The foremost field, O great goddess, is always exceedingly dear to me.
नीलगंगासंगमं च तथा गंधवती नदी 5.1.70.
The confluence of the Nīla and Gaṅgā, and also the river Gandhavatī,
ईश्वराश्चतुराशीतिस्तथाऽष्टौ संति भैरवाः
There are eighty-four Lords, and eight Bhairavas as well.
षड्वै विनायकाश्चाऽत्र देव्यश्च चतुर्विंशतिः
Six Vināyakas are here, and twenty-four goddesses.
विष्णुब्रह्मादयः सर्वे ह्यत्रैव निहिताः शुभे
All the gods such as Viṣṇu and Brahmā are established here, O auspicious one.
दश विष्णुः समाख्यातास्तेषां नामानि मे शृणु
Ten forms of Viṣṇu are described; listen to their names from me.
नारायणो हृषीकेशो वाराहो धरणीधरः
Nārāyaṇa, Hṛṣīkeśa, Vārāha, and Dharaṇīdhara,
दशैते वैष्णवाः प्रोक्ताः सर्वपापहराः पराः
These ten Vaiṣṇavas are proclaimed, supreme removers of all sins.
महाकालवने रम्ये ये वसंति सुरेश्वराः
Those lords of the gods who dwell in the delightful Mahākāla forest,
विनायका भैरवा देव्यो ये संति पवनात्मजाः
The Vinayakas, the Bhairavas, the goddesses, and those who are the sons of the wind—
विघ्नहा च प्रमोदी च चतुर्थीव्रतकप्रियः
Vighnahā and Pramodī, who are fond of the observance of the fourth-day vow—
षडेते वै समाख्याता विघ्ननाशकराः पराः 5.1.70.
These six, indeed, are declared to be the supreme removers of obstacles.
वटयक्षिणी वीरभद्रा इत्येताश्चाष्ट मातरः महामाया सती ख्याता कपालमातृका तथा
Vaṭayakṣiṇī and Vīrabhadrā—these are the eight Mothers; Mahāmāyā, renowned as Satī, and also Kapālamātṛkā.
ब्रह्माणी पार्वती चैव योगिनी योगशालिनी
Brahmāṇī and Pārvatī as well, Yoginī and Yogaśālinī.
चर्पटामातृकाः ख्याता वटमातर एव च
The Carpaṭā Mothers are renowned, as are the Vaṭa Mothers.
योगिनीमातृका ख्याताश्चतुषष्टिस्ततः स्मृताः
The Yoginī Mothers are known, and thus sixty-four are remembered.
वैष्णवी च समाख्याता वाराही विंध्यवासिनी
Vaiṣṇavī is also named, Vārāhī, and Vindhyavāsinī.
हनूमान्ब्रह्मचारी च कुमारश्च महाबली
Hanumān, the celibate, and Kumāra, the mighty one—
दंडपाणिश्च विक्रांतो महाभैरवसिताऽसिताः
Daṇḍapāṇi, the powerful, and those who are under the sway of Mahābhairava, the dark ones.
कालभैरवश्च विख्यातः क्षेत्रपालस्तथाष्टमः कपर्दी च कपाली च कला नाथो वृषासनः
Kālabhairava is renowned, and the eighth is Kṣetrapāla; Kapardī, Kapālī, Kalānātha, and Vṛṣāsana.
त्र्यंबकः शूलपाणिश्च चीरवासा दिगम्बरः 5.1.70.
Tryambaka, the wielder of the trident, clad in bark, sky-clad.
रुद्राश्चैकादश प्रोक्ताः शत्रुपक्षविनाशनाः
The eleven Rudras are proclaimed, destroyers of the enemy's hosts.
सुवर्णरेताऽहःकर्ता मित्रो विष्णुः सनातनः
Suvarṇaretas, the maker of day, Mitra, Viṣṇu, the eternal one.
अगस्त्येश्वरमुख्यानां लिंगानां चतुराशिनाम्
Of the foremost liṅgas of Agastyeśvara and others, numbering forty.
अगस्त्वेश्वर आख्यातो गुहेश्वरस्ततः परम्
Agastyeśvara is named, then Guheśvara, the supreme.
अनादिकल्पेश्वरः शंभुः स्वर्णजालेश्वरः परः
Anādikalpeśvara, Śambhu, and the supreme Svarṇajāleśvara.
कर्कोटकेश्वरः शंभुः सिद्धेश्वरस्ततः परम्
Karkoṭakeśvara, Śambhu, and then the supreme Siddheśvara.
