He quickly attains the world of the Sun, which is difficult even for the gods to reach.
By the favor of a man alone, this Naradīpa has thus arisen.
I shall come there, O Pārtha, together with the gods, with full intent.
There, I am to be known as having arrived in the world, by the descent of the god.
Having seen the god thus mounted, the Naradīpa shining brilliantly,
Whoever, with devotion, beholds the Naradīpa situated on the chariot,
Now I shall describe, O sage, the chariot procession of the Naradīpa.
On the bright second day of Jyeṣṭha, the Sun is indeed on the chariot.
Whoever sees the lord of the day proceeding towards the northern direction,
And, turning back from Keśava and Arka, a man beholds the chariot,
And whoever draws the chariot with a rope, O sage,
When the Naradīpa is moving towards the south, O best of twice-born,
One should bind the field, the chariot, or even the deity with a thread.
Those men who, with devotion, perform circumambulation of the Sun,
He who, rising in the morning, silently and with devotion goes to the Sun,
Entering from the south, he should worship the wheel of the chariot.
Taking position at the western gate, he should worship the Sun who is situated on the chariot.
At the eastern gate is the cow, and likewise the horse is at the southern gate.
Whoever undertakes the journey of the Sun’s chariot,
Attains the auspicious heavenly world of the cow, the Sun, Shiva, and Indra.
He who gives a thousand cows at the time of the hundredth Vyatipāta day—
Whoever causes the shaving to be done while mounted on the Sun’s chariot,
Or daily, for a month, in front of the Sun at the pond, O Sarasvatī,
He who, with devotion, beholds the Sun’s chariot every day, O Vyāsa,
Having played with his relatives, when he dies, he goes to the city of the Sun.
When Andhaka was slain by Maheshvara with the trident bearing three points,
Then Viṣṇu blew the conch, desiring the welfare of the gods.
There Viṣṇu was present, and also the four-faced liṅga.
On the right side of the deity, established with the trident, he stood.
Those whose masses of all sins have been destroyed will attain the highest state.
