What Lakshmana had spoken, Sita then carried out.
Having spent the night there, she set her mind on departing.
Saumitri spoke these words: 'I will not go, by any means.'
I will not go ahead into the forest, nor to Ayodhya, by any means.
How did you previously leave Ayodhya together with me?
Let an error be made for my sake; lead me also, O Raghava.
Lakshmana then said to Rama: 'I will not go again to the forest.'
Do not follow me, Saumitri; I will go alone into the woods.
Lakshmana, troubled in mind, took up his bow and rose at that time.
Turn back, Saumitri, and hand over the bow to me.
For what reason have I been abandoned? What offense have I committed?
Then Sita said to Rama: 'For what reason, by you, Lakshmana...?'
Raghava then said to Sita: 'I will not abandon Lakshmana.'
O lovely-hipped one, it has been heard before that this field has been disturbed.
They do not regard each other, being motivated solely by their own interests.

Having spoken thus, Rama, Lakshmana, and Janaki departed.

Now I shall further describe another sacred place, renowned throughout the three worlds.
Formerly, in the Tretā Yuga, there was a brahmin named Sunetra, O Vyāsa.

Having bathed at the sacred place Kiṃpunaka, the brahmin went to the holy Dhārā.

There, bathing again at that sacred place, he heard a voice.
"You are not afflicted by brahminicide; it has been destroyed by bathing at the sacred place."
