With celestial vimanas attended by hosts of Apsaras.
The foremost of all sacred bathing places, renowned in the three worlds.
There, one who bathes and becomes pure, who beholds the great Lord—
Is freed from all sins, together with his own lineage.
Having bathed at Jaṭāśṛṅga, becoming pure, with senses controlled—
And having performed the great penance at the beginning, he should proceed towards Shiva.
One who bathes at Indratirtha and beholds Indreshvara Shiva—
Or who beholds Kundeshvara, devoted to the meditation on Shiva—
One who bathes at Gopatirtha and beholds Gopeśvara Shiva—
And having bathed at Cipiṭātirtha, having bowed to the god Shiva—
And having bathed at Vijaya, by worship of Ānandeśvara—
Now I shall describe another, established at Kuśasthalī.
Once, from Citrakūṭa, Rāma departed together with Sītā and Lakṣmaṇa.
Wherever he went, he did not experience separation from his relatives.
Through this forest exile and the death of his father, the lord,
Hearing those words spoken by Rāghava, the foremost of Brāhmaṇas then
"Well asked by you, O hero, enhancer of the Raghus' line."
In the land of Avanti, O Rāma, there is a city called Kuśasthalī.
That god, O king, always bestows the fruits of desired aims.
There, the Brāhmaṇas who go, and the mighty king as well,
That is the foremost of holy places, entered within the region of Avanti.
There, after bathing, Rāma offered oblations to his ancestors.
Then, a bodiless voice was spoken by the god of gods.
"This place has been given by me; do not doubt, O Rāghava."
You have been favored, O son of Sumitrā, by the god Śambhu.
Hearing those words, Lakṣmaṇa established Śaṃkara there.
"Come, Lakṣmaṇa, quickly bring water from the Śiprā."
But Lakṣmaṇa said, "What will you do with Sītā?"
"She stands before me, nourished, strong, and full-bodied."
Hearing those words spoken by Lakṣmaṇa, Rāma indeed...
