तत्र स्नात्वा नरो धीमान्विजितेन्द्रिय आदरात्
There, a wise man, self-controlled, who bathes with reverence—
आश्विने शुक्लपक्षस्य एकादश्यां जितव्रतः
On the eleventh day of the bright fortnight of Āśvina, having observed vows—
विष्णुं संपूज्य विधिवत्सर्वान्कामानवाप्नुयात्
Having properly worshipped Viṣṇu, he attains all desires.
तस्मात्क्षीरोदकस्थानान्नैर्ऋते दिग्दले श्रितम्
Therefore, from the place of the milk-water, it is situated in the southwestern quarter.
सर्वपापप्रशमनं पुण्यामृततरंगितम् 2.8.7.
It removes all sins and is imbued with the nectar of virtue.
यज्ञं च विधिवच्चक्रे बृहस्पतिरुदारधीः सुपर्णच्छायसंपन्नं कुण्डं तत्पापिदुर्ल्लभम्
Bṛhaspati, wise and noble-minded, performed the sacrifice according to the prescribed rites; the altar was adorned with the shade of Suparṇa, and was difficult for the sinful to attain.
इन्द्रादयोऽपि विबुधा यत्र स्नात्वा प्रयत्नतः
There, Indra and the other gods also bathed with great care.
यत्र स्नानेन दानेन नरो मुच्येत किल्बिषात्
There, by bathing and giving gifts, a person is freed from sin.
भाद्रे शुक्ले तु पंचम्यां यात्रा तत्र फलप्रदा
On the fifth day of the bright fortnight of Bhādra, pilgrimage there yields fruit.
बृहस्पतेस्तथा विष्णोः पूजां तत्र य आचरेत्
Whoever performs worship of Bṛhaspati and Viṣṇu there,
भवेद्बृहस्पतेः पीडा यस्य गोचरवेधतः
If one suffers affliction from Bṛhaspati due to planetary influence,
होमं कृत्वा गुरोर्मूर्तिः सुवर्णेन विनिर्मिता
After performing the fire offering, the image of the Guru made of gold,
वेदज्ञायातिशुचये स्नात्वा पीडापनुत्तये
Bathing for the sake of relief, for one who knows the Vedas and is exceedingly pure,
एवं कृते न संदेहो ग्रहपीडा प्रणश्यति
When this is done, there is no doubt that the affliction of the planets is destroyed.
तद्दक्षिणे मुनिश्रेष्ठ रुक्मिणीकुण्डमुत्तमम् 2.8.7.
To the south of that, O best of sages, is the excellent Rukmiṇī altar.
तत्र विष्णुः स्वयं चक्रे निवासं सलिले तदा
There, Viṣṇu himself made his abode in the waters at that time.
तत्र स्नानं तथा दानं होमं वैष्णवमंत्रकम्
There, bathing, giving, and fire offerings with Vaiṣṇava mantras are to be performed.
तत्र सांवत्सरी यात्रा कर्त्तव्या सुप्रयत्नतः
There, the annual pilgrimage must be undertaken with great care.
पुत्रवाञ्जायते वन्ध्यो यात्रां कृत्वा न संशयः
A barren woman becomes a mother by undertaking the pilgrimage, without doubt.
भुक्त्वा भोगान्समग्रांश्च विष्णुलोके स मोदते
Having enjoyed all pleasures, one delights in the world of Viṣṇu.
सर्वकाममवाप्नोति तत्र स्नानेन मानवः
There, by bathing, a person attains all desires.
कर्त्तव्या विधिवत्पूजा ब्राह्मणानां विशेषतः
Worship must be performed according to the prescribed rites, especially for the Brāhmaṇas.
पीतांबरधरः स्रग्वी नारदादिभिरीडितः
Clad in yellow garments, adorned with garlands, and praised by Nārada and others.
सर्वकामफलावाप्त्यै वक्षोलक्षितकौस्तुभः
Bearing the Kaustubha gem upon his chest, for the attainment of all desired rewards.
एवं कृते न संदेहः सर्वान्कामानवाप्नुयात् 2.8.7.
Thus performed, there is no doubt; one attains all desires.
अतः परं प्रवक्ष्यामि तीर्थमन्यदघापहम्
Next, I shall describe another sacred place that removes sin.
परं पवित्रमतुलं सर्वकामार्थसिद्धिदम्
It is supremely pure, incomparable, and grants fulfillment of all desires and purposes.
रुक्मिणीकुण्डवायव्यदिग्दले संस्मृतं शुभम्
It is remembered as auspicious in the region of Rukmiṇī-kuṇḍa and Vāyavya.
तस्य रक्षार्थमत्यर्थं रक्षितो यक्षउच्चकैः
For its protection, it is thoroughly guarded by Yakṣas of great stature.
हरिश्चंद्रं नरपतिं राज्यसूयकरं परम्
Hariśchandra, the king, performed the royal consecration there, the highest rite.
