They go to Rudra's world—of this my mind has no doubt.
Even without residing in the sacred field, and likewise without strict observance,
The mute, the dull, the blind, the deaf, and those lacking in austerity and discipline,
When they die by the force of time, O Vyāsa, they too go to Rudra's world.
With bodies of divine form, endowed with all enjoyments,
Once reviled as Kālī and Pārvatī, the goddess,
Thus indeed arose the quarrel between Śiva and Gaurī there.
Then, in the beginning, a pit was made, named the Destroyer of Quarrels.
There, a man who bathes at that sacred site and worships the great Lord—
Whoever offers a gift there, even a fragment of sandalwood—
And whoever, O sage, gives land as a donation at that place—
Whether he gives a single cow, a single wish, or even a finger's breadth of land—
A cow, a horse, sesame seeds, cloth, a vessel, or a copper milking pot—
Those who give these to the Brahmins, their worlds are forever inexhaustible.
There, the goddess who removes the sins of all worlds—
Whoever bathes there and respectfully beholds the backs of the mothers—
After seeing them, one should proceed along the path.
Whether in one's own land or another, on mountains or in forests—
In all afflictions caused by planets, and likewise in fear from kings and the like—
Whoever, addressing the goddess, is a Brahmin, attains the desired fruit.
Who bathes before the goddess obtains the highest accomplishment.
He who bathes with a fruit-filled pot in front of the goddess, according to the rite—
A son is born to him, just as the six-faced god.
A man who bathes there becomes endowed with beauty, good fortune, and prosperity.
King Purūravas obtained it; he, the descendant of Ila, was that ruler.
Just as, for that reason, at the time when it was established by him—
How did Pururavas obtain that celestial nymph as his wife? Tell me everything as it truly happened, for I am eager to know.
While those two were residing at Badarikāśrama, Indra became fearful.
Those who were instructed by Maghavat and assembled for the purpose of creating obstacles—
Having come here to cause hindrance, at that time the two gods conversed.
