Then all the hosts of gods, having deceived that group,
Having gone, say to Bhava through Vayu: 'You must not produce offspring.'
Then the wind swiftly went and stood where the great lord was.
Thereupon, the blessed Śarva was overcome with profound shame.
Then Gaurī, afflicted with intense sorrow, cursed the dwellers of the heavenly realms.
Therefore, they too shall be deprived of offspring.
Because the wind arrived at this place, which is devoid of people,
Having spoken thus, she, absorbed in her husband's wrath, then sighed deeply.
For the sake of a son, she undertook austerities, controlling her speech, body, and mind.
Together with Indra and the other gods, she approached that place.
This god Śiva has come to your side, with modesty.
Having obtained a son, I will depart and remain at his side, O lord of the gods.
Knowing her resolve, the god himself came.
By granting sight, O goddess of the gods, and by speaking, O beautiful-faced one,
You have been released before the proper time; union has been ended.
Therefore, a son will be born to you, arising from your own body.
Taking your own bodily impurity, in whatever form, O queen of the gods,
Immediately, among the hosts of gods and especially among the demons,
Thus addressed by the three-eyed one, the queen of the gods was satisfied.
When the fourth day arrived, then Śivā, O king, bathed and, by Hara's command, created Vināyaka with four arms.
Then, by the words of Hara, he regained life at that time, and from then on became renowned among all mortals.
He, the illustrious one, became known as Vinayaka, worshipped by the inhabitants of the three worlds.
Then all the hosts of gods, devoted to what pleases the Goddess, rejoiced.
The gods said: This son of yours, O Goddess, shall be foremost among us all.
This beautiful peak of the mountain, O Auspicious One, is sanctified by your service.
Those who bathe here, in these supremely holy waters,
Especially those who, with focused mind, do so on the bright third day of the month of Māgha,
Having thus spoken, all the gods then returned to their own abodes.
Thus ends the fifty-second chapter, named 'The Greatness of Īśānī Peak,' in the Arbuda Section, third part of the Prabhāsa Book, of the eighty-one-thousand-verse Śrī Skanda Mahāpurāṇa.
There, in ancient times, the world-creator Brahmā placed his foot.
