For as long as the swan travels a yojana in time,
Therefore, it is proper to turn back, as I have said to you, O Lord.
Then, becoming joyful in mind and taking it, the Four-faced One showed it to Viṣṇu; this is from the top of the liṅga.
The auspicious garland was brought by me, and the Four-armed One obtained its end.
I am not able, O Brahman, to reach the farthest limit in any way.
If you have somehow found the end of this, O Brahman,
Otherwise, the end of this is not seen by anyone anywhere.
The great king became angry with Brahmā at that very moment.
Then, having gone to the witness, he said: 'Fie, fie upon the one who speaks uselessly!'
Because you have falsely claimed to have seen my limit,
Those men who worship you, filled with delusion,
And likewise, because Ketakī has spoken, therefore, by that most wicked one,
Having thus pronounced a curse upon them both, the god spoke to Keśava.
Because of truthful speech alone, choose a boon, O steadfast one.
O god, you do not attain satisfaction from those who are impure.
Bring this liṅga, called Ananta, to a lighter form without delay.
He again spoke to Keśava: 'Hear this word, O Hari.'
In this most pure place, establish the liṅga for me, O Hari.
Burned by my radiance, he became dark in color.
Therefore, O man, upon rising in the morning, utter 'Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa' as his name.
Even Vāsudeva, taking that liṅga, was on Arbuda mountain.
From that, the sacred place called Kṛṣṇa-tīrtha arose on the earth.
Whoever bathes in the holy Kṛṣṇa lake and beholds that liṅga—
He attains, without desire, the fruit of all gifts.
Therefore, one should make every effort to bathe there.
On the eleventh day, O great king, fasting and with senses controlled—
He who, with faith, performs śrāddha in the morning—
He who gives black sesame there to the brāhmaṇas—
O king, merely by seeing Kṛṣṇa-tīrtha, a man—
On the slope of that mountain, it is known as Māmu-hrada.
