By the king, the protector of sheep, all that was rendered fruitless.
There are no sorrows, no diseases, nor sins on the earth.
Therefore, O best of gods, do again as before.
Hearing those words, Brahmā, the grandsire of the worlds,
Then, laughing loudly, the three-eyed one spoke to the four-faced one.
How is restraint effected there, and what is the means of control?
Therefore, by that king, the path was shown.
And by me as well, O best of gods, his favor was granted.
Having spoken thus, Shiva addressed the four-faced one and Yama: 'When that time arrives, I will bring him to my own abode.'
Yama said: 'Five thousand years of his life have passed.'
As long as, O foremost of gods, emptiness arises in his own refuge—
When Yama had spoken thus, he released him and went home.
There the king was situated, intent on protecting his subjects.
The goats saw him, bearing the fierce form of a tiger.
Though the king strove earnestly to protect them,
Seeing the slaughter of the goats, then the lord of the earth—
What was given by her satisfaction, together with the fierce flame, Maheshvara slowly took into his own mouth.
Because of the absence of weapons, even as she was being restrained swiftly by her beloved—
Then, from the touch of her body, he released both the tiger form and her.
She was adorned with a divine garland of skulls, with a club and serpents.
Then, having made a hymn of praise, he stood bowed in humility.
The insult was thus given; let all that be forgiven, O Lord.
With great satisfaction, seeing your deed, which was beyond human,
Just as you have ruled, O king, and protected your subjects—
Therefore, O best of kings, go with me to the netherworld.
From now on, you must not remain in the world of mortals in any way.
Install your son in the kingdom, informing the ministers as well.
In this way, I was once told by the goddess, who was pleased.
When you, O wise one, leave the world of mortals, which is so hard to abandon,
Then give me again those things by which I may become free of obligation.
