Then, after meditating for a long time, he spoke to the distressed ministers:
There is the Sārasvata tīrtha, which grants all desires to people.
Then, at those words, he immediately went there in haste.
Having learned of the power of Sarasvatī, the king—
Then, swiftly taking clay from the riverbank,
holding a most beautiful lotus in his right hand,
and a water-pot filled with divine water in the other,
he carefully placed it upon a stone slab in the sacred enclosure.
Then, with a mind purified by faith, he offered praise.
O Goddess, whatever exists, real or unreal, that which is the essence of bondage and liberation—
You abide in the hearts of all people as the embodiment of all accomplishment.
O Goddess of the gods, you alone are accessible through devotion in all three worlds.
You are fame, you are steadfastness, you are intelligence, you are devotion, you are called radiance.
You are contentment, nourishment, beauty, affection, Svadhā, Svāhā, and the night.
You are modesty, peace, memory, skill, forgiveness, Gaurī, and Rohiṇī.

You are Brahmāṇī, Vinatā, Lakṣmī, Kadrū, Dākṣāyaṇī, and Śivā.
You are strength, the channel of vitality, satisfaction, firmness, speech, and Sarasvatī.
Whatever is gesture or non-gesture, that too is your form, O Queen of the gods.
The Yakṣas, Guhyakas, spirits, Daityas, and the Vināyakas—
and many others not mentioned by me due to their multitude—let the deities remove sin, but you, even when praised, do so as well.
Thus praised by that king, the Goddess of Speech, the Queen of the gods,
became greatly pleased and said, 'I am satisfied; quickly choose whatever boon you desire.'
Here, in this image, my fame remains firm throughout the three worlds.
Whoever worships you properly here, established for my sake,
Whoever, having bathed in these pure waters, worships me, ever present here,
To him, O king, I shall grant all desired wishes. Sūta said: Thus, the goddess Sarasvatī herself remained there.
From that time onward, the supreme goddess abides for the welfare of the worlds.
Whoever, as a mortal, worships her with white flowers and unguents,
By the grace of Sarasvatī, he is born again and again,
Whoever, in her presence, listens to the recitation of dharma,
