By the greatness of Hāṭakeśvara, all sins are destroyed.
Therefore, by your residence there, it will become even more pure again.
I myself have established this foremost place and dedicated it to the Brāhmaṇas.
There, by my command, you must always reside.
It is known by the name Acaleśvara in all three worlds.
Any mortal who beholds me established there with devotion—
On the fourteenth day of the bright half of Māgha, whoever worships my liṅga—
Whatever sin was committed in childhood, old age, or even in youth—
Therefore, O king, establish my liṅga right here.
Then that king quickly built a most delightful temple.
Then the king began to ponder, 'What is the will of Maheśvara?'
At that very moment, a voice arose in the sky.
O tiger among kings, do not trouble yourself with anxious thoughts.
I will tell you something else as well, O king, for your assurance.
The shadow of this liṅga of mine will always remain steady.
In that same form, unmoving and constant, in the direction where the sun stands.
Then, filled with great joy, he bowed down to him on the ground.
Even today, that very form of the shadow is always seen.
Within six months, O twice-born ones, whoever's death is destined on earth—
In the form of Acaleśvara, near the city of wonder—
By its immovability, the Lord of gods is considered the middle one among the sixty-eight.
Therefore, this field is proclaimed as purifying for all.
Now, I will tell you another event, an episode arising from its glory.
Because of the greatness of Acaleśvara, in that field, people quickly—
Some seek heaven, others liberation, or wealth, grain, and children; each mortal attains what he desires, swiftly and with little effort.
Then, seeing this, Indra, the thousand-eyed, observed all the sinful people on earth.
He summoned anger, desire, greed, hatred, fear, and pleasure.
Having called all these embodied forms, he spoke to them respectfully.
Whether a man or a woman, whoever approaches the city of Camatkāra,
Even while residing there, if one goes to the Lord of Acala,
