तद्दक्षिणेट्टहासाख्यं लिंगं सर्वसुखप्रदम् 4.2.97.
To its south is the liṅga named Aṭṭahāsa, bestower of all happiness.
प्रसन्नवदनस्तिष्ठेद्भक्तस्तद्दर्शनाच्छुभात्
A devotee who beholds it with a cheerful face stands blessed by its auspicious sight.
प्रतीच्यामट्टहासस्य मित्रावरुणनामनी
To the west of Aṭṭahāsa are the liṅgas named Mitra and Varuṇa.
नैर्ऋत्यां चाट्टहासस्य वृद्धवासिष्ठसंज्ञकम्
To the southwest of Aṭṭahāsa is the liṅga called Vṛddhavāsiṣṭha.
वसिष्ठेश समीपस्थः कृष्णेशो विष्णुलोकदः
Near Vasiṣṭheśa stands Kṛṣṇeśa, giver of the realm of Viṣṇu.
प्रह्लादेश्वरमभ्यर्च्य तत्पश्चाद्भक्तिवर्धनम्
After worshipping Prahlādeśvara, devotion increases thereafter.
अतः स्वलीनं तत्पूर्वे लिंगं पूज्यं प्रयत्नतः या गतिर्विहिता तेषां स्वलीने सा तनुत्यजाम्
Therefore, the liṅga called Svalīna in the east should be worshipped with care; the path ordained for those who worship Svalīna is attained at the time of leaving the body.
वैरोचनेश्वरं लिंगं स्वलीनात्पुरतः स्थितम्
The liṅga Vairocaneśvara stands in front of Svalīna.
तत्रैव लिंगं बाणेशं पूजितं सर्वकामदम्
There too is the liṅga Bāṇeśa, worshipped as the fulfiller of all desires.
सर्वाविद्याः प्रसन्नाः स्युस्तस्य लिंगस्य सेवनात्
All branches of knowledge become favorable by service to that liṅga.
तत्रैव विकटा देवी सर्वदुःखौघमोचनी 4.2.97.
There too is the goddess Vikaṭā, who releases from the flood of all sorrows.
तत्र जप्ता महामंत्राः क्षिप्रं सिध्यंति नान्यथा
Mantras recited there quickly succeed; nowhere else is this so.
तदर्चनादश्वमेधफलं त्वविकलं भवेत्
By worshipping there, one attains the flawless fruit of the horse sacrifice.
महापापौघविध्वंसी सुग्रीवेशस्तदुत्तरे
To the north of that is Sugrīveśa, destroyer of the mass of great sins.
महाबुद्धिप्रदस्तत्र पूज्यो जांबवतीश्वरः
There, Jāmbavatīśvara is to be worshipped, bestower of great wisdom.
तदुत्तरे भद्रह्रदो गवां क्षीरेण पूरितः
To the north of that is the auspicious lake, filled with the milk of cows.
तत्फलं लभते मर्त्यः स्नातो भद्रह्रदे ध्रुवम्
A mortal who bathes in the auspicious lake surely attains that result.
तदा पुण्यतमः कालो वाजिमेधफलप्रदः
At that time, the most sacred period grants the fruit of a horse sacrifice.
गोलोकं प्राप्नुयात्तस्मात्पुण्यान्नैवात्र संशयः
From that merit, one attains Goloka; there is no doubt in this matter.
तस्य लिंगस्य संस्पर्शात्परा शांतिं समृच्छति
By touching that liṅga, one obtains supreme peace.
त्यजेदश्रेयसो राशिं श्रेयोराशिं च विंदति 4.2.97.
He abandons heaps of misfortune and acquires heaps of fortune.
तदुत्तरे चक्रह्रदो महापुण्यविवर्धनः
Beyond that lies the Chakra Lake, which greatly increases merit.
शिवलोकमवाप्नोति भावितेनांतरात्मना
With a devoted inner self, one attains the realm of Shiva.
शूलं तत्र पुरा न्यस्तं स्नानार्थं वरवर्णिनि
Long ago, the trident was placed there for the purpose of bathing, O noble lady.
स्नानं कृत्वा ह्रदे तत्र दृष्ट्वा शूलेश्वरं विभुम्
Having bathed in that lake and seen the lord of the trident, the glorious one,
तत्पूर्वतो नारदेन तपस्तप्तं महत्तरम्
Formerly, Nārada performed a very great austerity before that.
तत्र कुंडे नरः स्नात्वा दृष्ट्वा वै नारदेश्वरम्
There, a man who bathes in the pond and beholds the lord Nārada,
नारदेश्वर पूर्वेण दृष्ट्वाऽवभ्रातकेश्वरम्
To the east of Nārada's lord, one sees Avabhrātakeśvara.
तदग्रे ताम्रकुंडं च तत्र स्नातो न गर्भभाक्
Ahead lies the copper pond; one who bathes there does not become an embryo-bearer.
तत्र विघ्नहरं कुंडं तत्र स्नातो न विघ्नभाक्
There is the pond of the remover of obstacles; one who bathes there does not encounter obstacles.
