Having heard these words of Vyasa, the dwellers of Naimisharanya—
Because the Vedas were arranged by you, and you know even the Puranas,
And because you are the author of the great Bharata,
O son of Satyavati, you alone here are the knower of truth and the foremost among us.
Yet these young men do not have full faith in this matter.
When, in the forest of Ananda, you affirm the words of Shambhu,
Go to Varanasi, Vyasa, where Lord of the Universe himself resides.
Hearing this, the sage Vyasa felt somewhat angered in his heart.
Vyasa reached Varanasi and, bathing in the pool of the five rivers,
There, after performing bathing and other rites, and seeing Adi-Keshava,

He was delighted as conches were sounded before and behind him.

Lord of all hosts, riding Garuḍa, adorned with the forest garland, best among men—
Nṛsiṃha, sacrificer, Boar incarnation, beloved of cowherds and cowherdesses—
Victory to you, slayer of Cāṇūra! Victory to you, protector of the three worlds!

Thus, with such a garland of names, he praised the one adorned with the forest garland.
