The names of Gopāla, spoken by women, elders, and children,
Are seen in every house, just as in the celestial groves,
On the walls of mansions, images made by artists are indeed seen,
Those who bear the names of Hari are never harmed by Hari himself,
Neither fish, nor tortoises, nor boars are killed by anyone,
Even infants lying on their backs are sometimes found in the realm of Mitrajit,
Even cattle, abandoning grass as food, on the day of Hari,
A great festival is celebrated by all the citizens,
He alone was punished by King Mitrajit in his land,
Even those of the lowest caste in that kingdom bear the marks of the conch and discus,
All auspicious deeds performed daily by people,
Are without meaning unless done for Mukunda, Govinda, the supreme bliss, the infallible one,
Kṛṣṇa alone is the highest god; Kṛṣṇa alone is the supreme goal,
Thus, when that king ruled the kingdom justly,
He was duly honored by the king with the offering of madhuparka, according to tradition.
O lord of the people, seeing Govinda present in all beings—
The person who knows that Viṣṇu is the Supreme Person, that Hari is the Lord of sacrifice—
For one who perceives the universe as pervaded by Him, O best of kings—
He alone is the true essence here in this fleeting world of constant change.
Whoever abandons everything and always worships Viṣṇu alone—
Whose senses have attained steadiness in Hṛṣīkeśa—how wondrous!
Youth, wealth, and lifespan are like drops of water on a lotus leaf.
For whom the god Janārdana is present in speech, mind, and everywhere—
By sincere devotion, having honored the Lord of Śrī—
With this devotion to Viṣṇu, your senses and mind become satisfied.
There is a young girl, daughter of a Vidyādhara, named Malayagandhinī.
She was taken by the powerful demon, son of Kapālaketu.
At present, she is in the city of Campakāvatī in the netherworld.
He was seen, greeted with reverence, and petitioned as was proper.
He beguiled her, absorbed as she was in childish playthings, and led her away.
