केदारभक्तं संपूज्य वासोन्नद्रविणादिभिः
By honoring the devotee of Kedara with garments, food, wealth, and the like,
आषण्मासं त्रिकालं यः केदारेशं नमस्यति
Whoever worships Kedaresha three times a day for six months,
कलौ केदारमाहात्म्यं योपि कोपि न वेत्स्यति
In the Kali age, whoever, of any kind, does not know the greatness of Kedara,
केदारेशं सकृद्दृष्ट्वा देवि मेऽनुचरो भवेत्
O Devi, by seeing Kedaresha even once, one becomes my attendant.
चित्रांगदेश्वरं लिंगं केदारादुत्तरे शुभम्
The auspicious Citrāṅgadeśvara liṅga is situated to the north of Kedāra.
केदाराद्दक्षिणे भागे नीलकंठ विलोकनात्
To the south of Kedāra, by beholding Nīlakaṇṭha, one attains merit.
तद्वायव्यंबरीषेशो नरस्तदवलोकनात्
To the northwest, the lord of Barīṣa; a person, by seeing him, gains blessings.
इंद्रद्युम्नेश्वरं लिंगं तत्समीपे समर्च्य च 4.2.77.
Near that place, worshipping the liṅga of Indradyumneśvara brings merit.
तद्दक्षिणे नरो दृष्ट्वा लिंगं कालंजरेश्वरम्
To its south, a person who beholds the liṅga of Kālaṃjareśvara attains virtue.
दृष्ट्वा क्षेमेश्वरं लिंगमुद्क्चित्रांगदेश्वरात्
Having seen the liṅga of Kṣemeśvara, one gains blessings from Citrāṅgadeśvara.
इत्याख्यायि पुरांबायै मया तेपि निरूपितः
Thus, O Puraṃbā, I have described and explained these to you.
केदारेश्वरलिंगस्य श्रुत्वोत्पत्तिं कृती नरः
Hearing the origin of the Kedāreśvara liṅga, a virtuous person becomes blessed.
आनंदकानने शंभो यल्लिंगं पुण्यवर्धनम्
In the forest of bliss, the liṅga of Śambhu increases merit.
यत्सेव्यं साधकैर्नित्यं यत्र प्रीतिरनुत्तमा
That which is always worshipped by spiritual aspirants, where unsurpassed joy is found.
यस्य संस्मरणादेव यल्लिंगस्य विलोकनात्
By merely remembering or beholding that liṅga, one attains blessings.
पंचामृतादि स्नपनपूर्वाद्यस्यार्चनादपि
By worshipping it with offerings such as pañcāmṛta and ritual bathing, one gains merit.
सर्वज्ञेन यदाख्यातं तदाख्यास्यामि ते शृणु
What was declared by the all-knowing, I will now tell you; listen.
देवदेव उवाच उमे भवत्या यत्पृष्टं भवबंधविमोक्षकृत्
The god of gods spoke: O Umā, what you have asked concerns liberation from worldly bondage.
आनंदकानने चात्र रहस्यं परमं मम
In the forest of bliss, here is my supreme secret.
संति लिंगान्यनेकानि ममानंदवने प्रिये
There are many liṅgas in my forest of bliss, O beloved.
ममापि येन त्रिपुरं समरे जयकांक्षिणः 4.2.78.
By which, even I, desiring victory in battle, conquered Tripura.
यत्रास्ति तीर्थमघहृत्पितृप्रीतिविवर्धनम्
Where there exists a sacred place that removes sin and increases the joy of ancestors.
धर्माधिकरणं यत्र धर्मराजोप्यवाप्तवान्
That is the place where even Dharma, the Lord of Justice, obtained authority over righteousness.
पक्षिणोपि हि यत्रापुर्ज्ञानं संसारमोचनम्
There, even birds attained the knowledge that brings liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
यल्लिंगदर्शनादेव दुर्दमो नाम पार्थिवः
By merely seeing the liṅga there, a king named Durdama was transformed.
तस्य लिंगस्य माहात्म्यमाविर्भावं च सुंदरि
O beautiful one, I will tell you of the greatness and manifestation of that liṅga.
धर्मपीठं तदुद्दिष्टमत्रानंदवने मम
That seat of righteousness, called Dharmapīṭha, is designated by me here in Ānandavana.
पुरा विवस्वतः पुत्रो यमः परमसंयमी
Long ago, Yama, the son of Vivasvat and the supreme controller, was there.
शिशिरे जलमध्यस्थो वर्षास्वभ्रावकाशकः
In winter, he stood in the midst of water; in the rainy season, exposed to the open sky.
पादाग्रांगुष्ठभूस्पर्शी बहुकालं स तस्थिवान्
He stood for a long time, touching the earth only with the tips of his big toes.
