दिग्गजेर्गिरिभिस्तीर्थेर्ऋक्ष वानर किन्नरैः
Established by elephants of the directions, mountains, sacred places, bears, monkeys, and Kinnaras.
प्रतिष्ठितानि यानीह मुक्तिहेतूनि तान्यपि
Those which are installed here are also causes of liberation.
भग्नान्यपि च कालेन तानि पूज्यानि सुंदरि
Even those broken by time, O beautiful one, are worthy of worship.
गंगाभस्यपि तिष्ठंति षष्टिकोटिमितानिहि
On the banks of the Ganga, sixty million of them stand.
गणनादिवसादवार्ङ्ममभक्तजनैःप्रिये
Due to counting and other reasons, O beloved, they are neglected by those lacking devotion.
त्वया तु यानि पृष्टानि यैरिदं क्षेत्रमुत्तमम्
But those about which you have asked, by which this field is made supreme—
कलावतीव गोप्यानि भविष्यंति गिरींद्रजे
O daughter of the mountain, they will remain as secret as the arts.
कलिकल्मषपुष्टा ये ये दुष्टा नास्तिकाः शठाः 4.2.73.
Those corrupted by the sins of Kali, those wicked, atheists, and deceitful ones—
नामश्रवणतोपीह यल्लिंगानां शुभानने
Even by hearing the names of these lingas here, O auspicious-faced one—
ओंकारः प्रथमं लिंगं द्वितीयं च त्रिलोचनम्
Omkara is the first linga, and the second is called Trilochana.
रत्नेशः पंचमं लिंगं षष्ठं चंद्रेश्वराभिधम्
Ratnesha is the fifth linga, and the sixth is known as Candreshvara.
वीरेश्वरं च नवमं कामेशं दशमं विदुः
Viresvara is the ninth, and Kamesha is known as the tenth.
द्वादशं मणिकर्णीशमविमुक्तं त्रयोदशम्
The twelfth is Maṇikarṇīśa, and Avimukta is the thirteenth.
प्रिये चतुर्दशैतानि श्रियोहेतूनि सुंदरि
Beloved, these fourteen are the causes of prosperity, O beautiful one.
देवताः समधिष्ठात्र्यः क्षेत्रस्यास्य परा इमाः
These are the supreme deities presiding over this sacred field.
आनंदकानने मुक्त्यै प्रोक्तान्येतानि सुंदरि
O beautiful one, these are declared in Ānandakānana for the sake of liberation.
प्रतिमासं समारभ्य तिथिं प्रतिपदं शुभाम्
Beginning each month, on the auspicious first lunar day,
अनाराध्य महादेवमेषु लिंगेषु कुंभज 4.2.73.
If one does not worship Mahādeva in these liṅgas, O son of the pot-born,
तस्मात्सर्वप्रयत्नेन काशीफलमभीप्सुभिः
Therefore, with all effort, those desiring the fruit of Kāśī,
निर्वाणकारणानीह यदि संति तदा वद
If there are causes of liberation here, then tell me so.
कलिप्रभावाद्गुप्तानि भविष्यंत्येव तानि वै
Because of the influence of Kali, they will certainly remain concealed.
यस्येश्वरे सदाभक्तिर्यः काशीतत्त्ववित्तमः
He who is always devoted to the Lord and knows the truth of Kāśī,
येषां नामग्रहेणापि कलिकल्मष संक्षयः
By merely uttering whose names, the sins of Kali are destroyed,
मोक्षद्वारेश्वरश्चैव स्वर्गद्वारेश्वरस्तथा
Mokṣadvāreśvara and Svargadvāreśvara as well,
वृषेशश्चैव चंडीशो नंदिकेशो महेश्वरः
Vṛṣeśa, Caṇḍīśa, Nandikeśa, and Maheśvara,
काश्यां चतुर्दशैतानि महालिंगानि सुंदरि
These fourteen great liṅgas are in Kāśī, O beautiful one.
कलिकल्मषबुद्धीनां नाख्येयानि कदाचन
They must never be revealed to those whose minds are corrupted by Kali.
न तस्य पुनरावृत्तिः संसाराध्वनि कर्हिचित् ।। 4.2.73.
He never returns again to the path of worldly existence.
एतल्लिंगाभिधा देवि महापद्यपि दुःखहृत्
O goddess, even the name of these liṅgas removes great suffering.
चतुर्दशापि लिंगानि मत्सान्निध्यकराणि हि
Indeed, all fourteen liṅgas are present because of my nearness.
