ढुंढिराजोत्तरेभागे सिद्धिदं साधकस्य वै

लिंगं महाबलं नाम सांबादित्यसमीपतः
There is the mighty linga named Mahabala, situated near Samba and Aditya.
वाताहतस्तूलराशिरिव विद्राति दूरतः
Struck by the wind, it scatters far away like a heap of coarse grass.
महाबलमवाप्नोति निवार्णनगरं व्रजेत्
One attains great strength and should proceed to the city of Nivarna.
शशिभूषणसंज्ञं तु लिंगमत्र प्रतिष्ठितम्
Here is established the linga called Shashibhushana.
प्रभासक्षेत्रयात्रायाः पुण्यं प्राप्नोति कोटिकृत्

यन्नामस्मरणादेव न भयं कलिकालतः

त्रिलोचनादुदीच्यां तु तद्दृष्टमुक्तये मतम् कामेश्वरोत्तरे भागे दृष्टं विमलसिद्धिदम्
To the north of Trilochana, it is considered that seeing it brings liberation; to the north of Kameshvara, seeing it bestows pure accomplishment.
विश्वस्थानादिहायातं लिंगं वै विमलेश्वरम्
The linga called Vimaleshvara came here from the abode of the universe.
महाव्रतं महालिंगं महेंद्रादिह संस्थितम्
The great vow, the great linga, and Mahendra are established here.
वृंदारकर्षिवृंदानां स्तुवतां प्रथमे युगे
In the first age, the hosts of Vrinda and the sages praised it.
महादेवेति तैरुक्तं यन्मनोरथपूरणात
By them it was called Mahadeva, as it fulfills all desires.
मुक्तिक्षेत्रं कृतं येन महालिंगेन काशिका
By this great linga, Kashi was made a field of liberation.
शंभुलोके गमस्तस्य यत्रतत्र मृतस्य हि
For one who dies anywhere, there is passage to the realm of Śambhu.
कल्पांतरेपि न त्यक्तं कदाप्यानंदकाननम् 4.2.69.

तत्प्रसादोयमतुलः सर्वरत्नमयः शुभः

वाराणस्यामधिष्ठात्री देवता साभिलाषदा

वाराणस्यां महादेवो दृष्टो यैर्लिंगरूपधृक्
Those who have seen Mahādeva in Vārāṇasī, bearing the form of a liṅga—
वाराणस्यां महादेवं समभ्यर्च्य सकृन्नरः
A man who has worshipped Mahādeva even once in Vārāṇasī—
पवित्रपर्वणि सदा श्रावणे मासि यत्नतः
Especially during the sacred festival, in the month of Śrāvaṇa, with care—
पितामहेश्वरं लिंगं गयातीर्थादिहागतम्
The liṅga called Pitāmaheśvara, which came here from the holy site of Gayā—
धर्मेण यत्र वै तप्तं युगानामयुतं शतम्
Where, by righteousness, austerity was performed for a hundred thousand yugas—
पितामहेश्वरं लिंगं तत्राभ्यर्च्य नरो मुदा
A man who worships the Pitāmaheśvara liṅga there with joy—
प्रयागात्तीर्थराजाच्च शूलटंको महेश्वरः
And from Prayāga, the king of holy places, the Śūlaṭaṅka Maheśvara—
निर्वाणमंडपाद्रम्यादवाच्यामतिनिर्मलः 4.2.69.
From the pavilion of liberation, he shines, unspeakably pure.
