सेवितानि नृणां मुक्त्यै भवेयुर्भावितात्मनाम्
When served by those of purified mind, these become means for human liberation.
कृत्तिप्रावरणं यत्र कृतं देवेन लीलया
Where the garment of flayed skin was playfully made by the god.
स्थिते तत्रोमया सार्धं स्वेच्छया कृत्तिवाससि
There I remained together with him, at will, in the form of Kṛttivāsa.
देवदेवेश विश्वेश प्रासादाः सुमनोहराः
O Lord of gods, Lord of the universe, the temples are exceedingly beautiful.
भूर्भुवःस्वस्तले यानि शुभान्यायतनानि हि
Whatever auspicious shrines exist on earth, in the atmosphere, and in heaven—
यतो यच्च समानीतं यत्र यच्च कृतास्पदम्
Whatever has been brought from wherever, and wherever a dwelling has been made—
स्थाणुर्नाम महालिंगं देवदेवस्य मोक्षदम्
There stands the great liṅga called Sthāṇu, bestower of liberation, Lord of gods.
तदग्रे सन्निहत्याख्या महापुष्करिणी शुभा
In front of that is the renowned and auspicious great lotus pond.
तत्र स्नातं हुतं जप्तं तप्तं दत्तं शुभार्थिभिः
There, whatever is bathed, offered, recited, performed, or given by those seeking auspiciousness—
नैमिषाद्देवदेवोत्र ब्रह्मावर्तेन संयुतः 4.2.69.
Here, O Lord of gods, it is united with Naimiṣa and Brahmāvarta.
ढुंढिराजोत्तरेभागे सिद्धिदं साधकस्य वै
To the north of Dhundhiraja lies a place that truly grants success to the spiritual seeker.
ब्रह्मावर्त इति ख्यातः पुनरावृत्तिहृन्नृणाम्
This is renowned as Brahmavarta, where people are freed from the cycle of rebirth.
तत्पुण्यं नैमिषारण्यात्कोटिकोटिगुणं स्मृतम्
Its merit is remembered as being ten million times greater than that of Naimisha forest.
लिंगं महाबलं नाम सांबादित्यसमीपतः
There is the mighty linga named Mahabala, situated near Samba and Aditya.
वाताहतस्तूलराशिरिव विद्राति दूरतः
Struck by the wind, it scatters far away like a heap of coarse grass.
महाबलमवाप्नोति निवार्णनगरं व्रजेत्
One attains great strength and should proceed to the city of Nivarna.
शशिभूषणसंज्ञं तु लिंगमत्र प्रतिष्ठितम्
Here is established the linga called Shashibhushana.
प्रभासक्षेत्रयात्रायाः पुण्यं प्राप्नोति कोटिकृत्
By visiting this, one obtains merit multiplied a crore times that of a pilgrimage to Prabhasa.
यन्नामस्मरणादेव न भयं कलिकालतः
By merely remembering its name, there is no fear from the age of Kali.
महाकालाभिधं लिंगं दर्शनान्मोक्षदं परम् 4.2.69.
The linga called Mahakala, by whose sight supreme liberation is granted.
आविरासीदिह महत्पुष्करेण सहैव तु
Here it appeared together with the great sacred pond.
स्नात्वाऽयोगंधकुंडे तु भवात्तारयते पितॄन्
By bathing in the Yogandha pool, one delivers one's ancestors from worldly existence.
त्रिलोचनादुदीच्यां तु तद्दृष्टमुक्तये मतम् कामेश्वरोत्तरे भागे दृष्टं विमलसिद्धिदम्
To the north of Trilochana, it is considered that seeing it brings liberation; to the north of Kameshvara, seeing it bestows pure accomplishment.
विश्वस्थानादिहायातं लिंगं वै विमलेश्वरम्
The linga called Vimaleshvara came here from the abode of the universe.
महाव्रतं महालिंगं महेंद्रादिह संस्थितम्
The great vow, the great linga, and Mahendra are established here.
वृंदारकर्षिवृंदानां स्तुवतां प्रथमे युगे
In the first age, the hosts of Vrinda and the sages praised it.
महादेवेति तैरुक्तं यन्मनोरथपूरणात
By them it was called Mahadeva, as it fulfills all desires.
मुक्तिक्षेत्रं कृतं येन महालिंगेन काशिका
By this great linga, Kashi was made a field of liberation.
शंभुलोके गमस्तस्य यत्रतत्र मृतस्य हि
For one who dies anywhere, there is passage to the realm of Śambhu.
कल्पांतरेपि न त्यक्तं कदाप्यानंदकाननम् 4.2.69.
Even in another kalpa, the Forest of Bliss is never abandoned.
