Then, residing here again, one attains supreme knowledge.
Having committed evil deeds here, when they die, they depart.
My attendants called Yāmas are terrible, with deformed bodies.
They lead those of unrighteous intent to the dreadful eastern region.
With leeches, winged creatures, snakes, and water-born beings,
Then, in winter, the Yāmas take them to the snowy Himalaya mountains.
After that, in summer, to the desert devoid of water and trees.
There, they are tormented by fierce attendants with various tortures all around.
Then the Yāmas present them before the King of Time.
Naked, afflicted by hunger and thirst, with skin clinging to their backs and bellies.
Then the Rudra-spirits, ever the followers of Bhairava,
They sometimes obtain food mixed with blood.
They are led, bound by the neck, near the post in the cremation ground.
Then, when their sins are exhausted, by the sight of Kālabhairava,
Therefore, one should not desire sin here, by speech, mind, or deed.
No sinner who dies in Avimukta goes to hell.
He who practices fasting here, devoted to me and steadfast in vows,
Knowing this human life to be impermanent and full of many sins,
I see no other city among living beings except Varanasi,
The sin accumulated over thousands of lifetimes,
Whatever the yogi attains over thousands of lifetimes,
Those beings who have entered animal wombs, whose abode is liberation,
Those deluded, covered by darkness, do not serve Avimukta,
He who, having reached Avimukta, establishes the linga with wisdom,
The fall of planets, stars, and constellations is certain in time,
A man who has committed the killing of a Brahmin, later with a restrained mind,
And those women who are devoted to their husbands, absorbed in devotion to me,
At the time of departure here, I myself, O best of twice-born,
With mind fixed on me, devoted to me, offering all actions to me,
The fruit obtained by men elsewhere through great gifts,
