From Markaṇḍeyeśvara in the east, by worship of Vasiṣṭheśvara—
To the south, from the Agastya tīrtha, there is a tīrtha that is supremely purifying.
I am Pracaṇḍa Narasiṃha, east of Caṇḍabhairava; even the most terrible sin, having been committed, is destroyed by worship there, and one becomes free from all impurity.
I am Trivikrama in Kāśī, and in the north, from Trilocana—
The gaṇas, in the form of Nārāyaṇa, are adorned with discus and mace.
Vāmana is marked by the conch, discus, lotus, and mace.
And Vāsudeva always bears the conch, discus, mace, and lotus.
Even from afar, bowing with hairs standing on end in delight—
With effort, one should recite the account of Bindumādhava’s origin.
When the day of Viṣṇu arrives, one should remain awake through the night.
Hearing this, Skanda, I am not satisfied with the story you have spoken.
Now I wish to hear about the meeting of the Lord of gods.
And the expanse of Viṣṇu’s māyā—what did he say to the bearer of Garuḍa?
How did the Lord appear to Brahmā, whose eyes were filled with awe and shame?
What did the Yoginīs recount? What did the gaṇas, full of modesty, say?
Hearing this question of the sage, born from the pot—
She who removes all obstacles and greatly increases supreme welfare.
Then the god, enemy of the asuras, having heard of Śambhu's arrival—
He announces the coming of Śambhu, beloved of Upavārāṇasī.
And Vivasvat, surrounded on all sides by those hosts, assembled there.
Then Indra, having honored the god of gods, the bull-bannered one, as a guest—
Even the ancient Grandsire, with head deeply bowed, paid homage.
With hands raised in blessing, he addressed Rudra with hymns of praise.
Ganeśa, swift and bowed, placed his crown at the lotus feet.
He seated him nearby, embracing him on his own seat.
The yoginīs too, after bowing to the Lord, sang auspicious songs.
Then the crescent-crested one offered Hari the lion-throne.
He gave Brahmā a seat on the right side, inviting him to rest.
By merely nodding his crowned head, even the yoginīs were delighted.
Then Indra, with hands joined in reverence, addressed Śambhu—
