आनंदकाननभवं दिवोदास क्षमापतेः
Divodāsa, born in the forest of bliss, lord of the earth.
सुखोपविष्टः संहृष्टः सुदृष्टिर्विष्टरश्रवाः
Seated comfortably, delighted, with clear sight and attentive hearing.
स ऋषिस्तं समभ्येत्य पुंडरीकाक्षमच्युतम्
That sage approached the lotus-eyed, imperishable one.
शंखपद्मगदाचक्र चंचत्करचतुष्टयम्
With four hands holding conch, lotus, mace, and discus.
सुनीलेंदीवररुचिं सुस्निग्ध मधुराकृतिम्
With the radiance of a deep blue lotus, gentle and sweet in form.
दाडिमीबीजदशनं किरीटद्योतितांबरम्
With teeth like pomegranate seeds, garments shining beneath a crown.
दिव्यर्षिभिर्नारदाद्यैः परिगीतमहोदयम्
Whose greatness was sung by divine sages like Nārada.
धृतशार्ङ्गधनुर्दंडं दंडिताखिलदानवम्
Holding the Śārṅga bow and staff, subduer of all demons.
कैवल्यं यत्परं ब्रह्म निराकारमगोचरम् 4.2.60.
The supreme Brahman, absolute liberation, formless and beyond perception.
वेदाविदुर्यदाकारं नैवोपनिषदोदितम्
That which the Vedas do not describe, nor is spoken of in the Upaniṣads.
प्रणनाम मुदायुक्तः क्षितिविन्यस्तमस्तकः
He bowed joyfully, placing his head upon the earth.
तुष्टाव परया भक्त्या मौलिबद्धकरांजलिः
He praised with supreme devotion, hands joined upon his head.
तत्र पंचनदाभ्याशे मार्कंडेयादि सेविते
There, near the five rivers, served by sages like Mārkaṇḍeya.
सहस्रशीर्षा पुरुषः सहस्राक्षः सहस्रपात्
The Purusha with a thousand heads, a thousand eyes, a thousand feet.
नमामि ते पदद्वंद्वं सर्वद्वंद्वनिवारकम्
I bow to your pair of feet, remover of all dualities.
यं स्तोतुं नाधिगच्छंति वाचो वाचस्पतेरपि
Whom even the words of the lord of speech fail to praise.
अपि यो भगवानीशो मनःप्राचामगोचरः
Who, though the supreme Lord, is beyond the reach of the mind's direction.
यं वाचो न विशंतीशं मनतीह मनो न यम्
Whom words do not approach, O Lord, nor does the mind attain.
यस्य निःश्वसितं वेदाः स षडंगपदक्रमाः 4.2.60.
The Vedas, with their six limbs and the Pada and Krama recitations, are but his breath.
अतंद्रितमनोबुद्धींद्रिया यं सनकादयः
He, whose mind, intellect, and senses never tire, is contemplated by Sanaka and the others.
नारदाद्यैर्मुनिवरैराबाल ब्रह्मचारिभिः
By sages such as Narada and others, even from childhood, while observing celibacy.
तंसूक्ष्मरूपमजमव्ययमेकमाद्यं बह्माद्यगोचरमजेयमनंतशक्तिम्
That subtle, unborn, imperishable, one, the original, beyond the reach of Brahma and others, unconquerable, of infinite power.
एकैकमेव तव नामहरेन्मुरारे जन्मार्जिताघमघिनां च महापदाढ्यम्
Each one of your names alone, O Hari, O slayer of Mura, destroys the great heap of sins accumulated through birth.
नारायणेति नरकार्णव तारणेति दामोदरेति मधुहेति चतुर्भुजेति
Narayana, deliverer from the ocean of hell; Damodara; slayer of Madhu; four-armed one—
ये त्वां त्रिविक्रम सदा हृदि शीलयंति कादंबिनी रुचिर रोचिषमंबुजाक्षम्
Those who always meditate upon you, O Trivikrama, lotus-eyed, radiant as a cluster of clouds, in their hearts—
श्रीवत्सलांछनहरेच्युतकैटभारे गोविंदतार्क्ष्य रथकेशवचक्रपाणे
O Hari, marked with Srivatsa; Achyuta; burden of Kaitabha; Govinda; rider of Garuda; Keshava; wielder of the discus—
यैरर्चितोसि भगवंस्तुलसीप्रसूनैर्दूरीकृतैणमदसौरभदिव्यगंधैः
By whom, O Lord, you are worshipped with tulasi and flowers, with divine fragrances surpassing the scent of rutting elephants—
यद्वाचि नाम तव कामदमब्जनेत्र यच्छ्रोत्रयोस्तव कथा मधुराक्षराणि
O lotus-eyed one, whose name is wish-fulfilling when spoken, whose stories, with sweet syllables, are heard by the ears—
ये त्वां भजंति सततं भुविशेषशायिंस्ताञ्छ्रीपते पितृपतींद्र कुबेरमुख्याः 4.2.60.
Those who always worship you, who rest upon Shesha on earth, O Lord of Shri, are revered by the lords of ancestors, Indra, Kubera, and others.
ये त्वां स्तुवंति सततं दिवितान्स्तुवंति सिद्धाप्सरोमरगणा लसदब्जपाणे
Those who always praise you, are praised by the gods, by Siddhas, Apsaras, and hosts of Maruts, O lotus-handed one.
