Whatever action is performed here, whether small or very small—
Even a task accomplished perfectly, performed with right understanding—
Today, by the command of Śambhu, this effort is undertaken by me.
That which is exceedingly difficult to achieve by one's own intellect, strength, or effort—
Those who circumambulate you, O Lord, O Master of existence,
Know, O Mahadeva, that this is a certain and established duty.
Or, upon arriving in Kashi, one should not consider what is auspicious or inauspicious.
Having circumambulated Shambhu and bowing again and again,
Vishnu, after staying as a guest in Varanasi, then
Vishnu, with a purified mind, at the confluence of Ganga and Varana,
From that time onward, that sacred place became known as 'Pādodaka.'
Those humans who bathe at that sacred place of Pādodaka,
There, a man performing Śrāddha and offering water mixed with sesame,
The satisfaction obtained by forefathers at Gaya,
Having bathed in Pādodaka and drunk the water from Pādodaka,
At the sacred place of Vishnu's Pādodaka, having tasted the water even once,
With the discus, with a Śālagrāma, and with a conch, after bathing,
At the sacred place of Vishnu's Pādodaka, one should drink the water of Vishnu's feet.
In Kashi, at the sacred place of Pādodaka, those who have not performed the water rites,
Vishnu, having performed the daily rites, together with Lakshmi and Kāśyapi,
Having fashioned the Dārṣadī image with his own hand, Ādikeśava,
That glorious, supreme image named Ādikeśava,
That place is known as Śvetadvīpa, situated in Kāśīśīma.
There, another sacred site is called Kṣīrābhi, located in front of Keśava.
There, if a man performs the ancestral rite and gives a cow that yields milk,
he will know one hundred and one descendants who partake of milk and rice pudding.
And by giving many Naicikī gifts there, with faith and proper offerings,
To the south of Kṣīrābhi is the unsurpassed Śaṅkha Tīrtha.
To the south of that is Cakra Tīrtha, which is difficult even for ancestors to attain.
Nearby is Gadā Tīrtha, which removes all obstacles.
