जाने विघ्नानसंख्यातान्विनिहंतुमनेकधा
I know you destroy countless obstacles in many ways.
यानि यानि च रूपाणि यत्रयत्र च तेनघ
Whatever forms you take, wherever you may be, O sinless one—
प्रथमं ढुंढिराजोसि मम दक्षिणतो मनाक्
At first, you, King Dhuṇḍhi, were slightly to my right.
अंगारवासरवतीमिह यैश्चतुर्थीं संप्राप्य मोदकभरैः परिमोदवद्भिः
Here, those who, on the fourth day, having reached the day of embers, rejoice with heaps of sweet dumplings,
ये त्वामिह प्रति चतुर्थि समर्चयंति ढुंढे विगाढमतयः कृतिनस्त एव
Those who, with steadfast minds, worship you here on every fourth day, O Dhuṇḍhi, they are truly wise.
माघशुक्लचतुर्थ्यां तु नक्तव्रतपरायणाः
On the bright fourth day of Māgha, those devoted to the night vow,
विधाय वार्षिकीं यात्रां चतुर्थीं प्राप्य तापसीम्
Having performed the annual procession, and having reached the ascetic fourth day,
कार्या यात्रा प्रयत्नेन क्षेत्रसिद्धिमभीप्सुभिः
The procession should be undertaken with effort by those desiring success in the field.
तां यात्रां नात्रयः कुर्यान्नैवेद्यतिललडुकैः
One should not perform that procession here with offerings of sesame and sweet balls.
होमं तिलाज्यद्रव्येण यः करिष्यति भक्तितः 4.2.57.
Whoever performs the fire offering with a mixture of sesame and clarified butter, with devotion,
वैदिकोऽवैदिको वापि यो मंत्रस्ते गजानन
Whether Vedic or non-Vedic, O Elephant-faced One, whatever mantra there is,
इमां स्तुतिं ममकृतिं यः पठिष्यति सन्मतिः
Whoever, with good understanding, recites this praise composed by me,
ढौंढीं स्तुतिमिमां पुण्यां यः पठेड्ढुंढि संनिधौ
Whoever recites this auspicious praise of Dhuṇḍhi in the presence of Dhuṇḍhi,
इमां स्तुतिं नरो जप्त्वा परं नियतमानसः
A man, having muttered this praise with a mind firmly controlled,
पुत्रान्कलत्रं क्षेत्राणि वराश्वान्वरमंदिरम्
Sons, wife, fields, excellent horses, and a splendid house—
सर्वसंपत्करं नाम स्तोत्रमेतन्मयेरितम्
This hymn, composed by me, is called the bestower of all prosperity.
जप्त्वा स्तोत्रमिदं पुण्यं क्वापि कार्ये गमिष्यतः
Having recited this auspicious hymn, when setting out for any undertaking,
अन्यच्च कथयाम्यत्र शृण्वंत्वेते दिवौकसः
Moreover, I shall tell something else here; let these dwellers of heaven listen.
काश्यां गंगासि संभेदे नामतोर्कविनायकः
At Kāśī, at the confluence of the Gaṅgā, he is named Torka Vināyaka.
दुर्गो नाम गणाध्यक्षः सर्वदुर्गतिनाशनः 4.2.57.
There is a leader of the Gaṇas named Durga, destroyer of all misfortune.
भीमचंडी समीपे तु भीमचंडविनायकः
Near Bhīmacaṇḍī is Bhīmacaṇḍa Vināyaka.
क्षेत्रस्य पश्चिमे भागे स देहलिविनायकः
In the western part of the field is Dehalī Vināyaka.
क्षेत्रवायव्यदिग्भागे उद्दंडाख्यो गजाननः
In the northwestern direction of the field is the elephant-faced Uddaṇḍa by name.
काश्याः सदोत्तराशायां पाशपाणिर्विनायकः
In Kāśī, in the northern direction, is Pāśapāṇi Vināyaka.
गंगावरणयोः संगे रम्यः खर्वविनायकः
At the confluence of the two Gaṅgā enclosures is the delightful Kharva Vināyaka.
प्राच्यां तु क्षेत्ररक्षार्थं सिद्धः सिद्धिविनायकः
In the east, for the protection of the field, is Siddha Siddhivināyaka.
बाह्यावरणगाश्चैते काश्यामष्टौ विनायकाः
These eight Vināyakas are situated in the outer enclosure of Kāśī.
द्वितीयावरणे चैव ये रक्षंति विनायकाः
And in the second enclosure, the Vināyakas who protect it—
स्वर्धुन्याः पश्चिमे कूले उत्तरेर्कविनायकात्
On the western bank of the celestial Gaṅgā is Uttarerka Vināyaka.
तत्पश्चिमेकूटदंत उदग्दुर्गविनायकात् ।। 4.2.57.
To the west of that is Kūṭadaṃta, and north of Durgavināyaka.
