Descending from the lord of bulls, before the gaze of all the gods,
When I arrived at the auspicious city of Vārāṇasī,
That which is difficult to attain even for my father in all three worlds,
By this elephant-faced one, through his own wisdom and power here,
I alone have become a father, and what I have long contemplated,
Having spoken thus, the destroyer of Tripura was praised by Indra and others.
Remover of obstacles, destroyer of impediments, creator of great and singular obstacles,
Victory to you, lord of all the Gaṇas! Victory to you, foremost among all Gaṇas!
Victory to you, all-pervading one, lord of all, sole repository of all wisdom!
Source of all auspiciousness, victory to you, embodiment of all auspiciousness!
Victory to you, revered by creators; victory to you, honored by sustainers!
Lotus feet worshipped by Siddhas, victory to you, bestower of success!
Creator of countless virtues, transcending qualities, foremost among qualities,
Victory to you, lord of all strength, giver of strength to the enemies of strength!
O bearer of infinite greatness, O piercer of mountains,
Those who bow to you, compassionate one of divine form, become liberated on earth from all sins.
Those whom you, O Lord of Obstacles, glance upon with eyes of mercy, are freed from hindrances on this earth, even if only for a moment.
Those who praise you, skilled in removing bowed obstacles, are like the sharp rays of the lotus-heart of Dakshayani.
Those who always revere your pair of feet enjoy abundance of sons, grandsons, wealth, and grain.
You are the cause, the supreme cause of all causes; you alone are always known by those who truly know the Vedas.
The Vedas do not know you as you truly are, nor do Brahma and the others, O sustainer of all moving and unmoving beings.
With arrows of your fierce gaze, I destroy demons—such as Andhaka and Jalandhara—who were slain by you before.
In searching, this Dhundhi is renowned as the essence of all, and because you are sought for all purposes, you are called Dhundhi.
He who, bowing before you, venerates your lotus feet, O Dhundhi, becomes a resident of Kashi in this life.
A man who first bathes at Manikarnika, with his pair of feet washed and clothed, quickly—
—with heaps of fragrant modakas, excellent incense, lamps, garlands, and abundant scented ointments—
—even if he omits other pilgrimages, he accomplishes them here by your merciful glance.
He who every day bows to you, Dhundhi Vinayaka, in Kashi at dawn, has all obstacles removed.
He who recites your name, O Dhundhi Vinayaka, the eight siddhis themselves recite that mantra daily in his heart.
Even one who, though far away, remembers your footstool every day, O Dhundhi Raja, you grant all accomplishments.
