तस्य वाक्यं त्वया राजन्कर्तव्यमविचारितम्
His command, O king, must be carried out by you without hesitation.
इत्युक्त्वा पृच्छ्य राजानं लब्धानुज्ञो द्विजोत्तमः
Having spoken thus and obtained permission, the best of the twice-born questioned the king.
इत्थं विघ्नजिता सर्वा पुरी स्वात्मवशीकृता
Thus, all obstacles having been overcome, the entire city was brought under his own control.
कृतकृत्यमिवात्मानं ततो मत्वा स विघ्नजित् 4.2.56.
Then, considering himself as one who had accomplished his purpose, Vighnajit (the conqueror of obstacles) felt content.
यदा स न दिवोदासः प्रागासीत्कुंभसंभव
When Divodāsa, O son of Kumbha, had not yet become king,
दिवोदासे नरपतौ विष्णुनोच्चाटिते सति
When Viṣṇu had been expelled during the reign of King Divodāsa,
स्वयमागत्य देवेन मंदरात्सुंदरां पुरीम्
Then, the god himself came from Mandara to the beautiful city.
कथं च बहुधात्मानं स चकार विनायकः
And how did Vināyaka manifest himself in many forms?
केनकेन स वै नाम्ना काशिपुर्यां व्यवस्थितः
And by what names did he dwell in Kāśī city?
इत्युदीरितमाकर्ण्य कुंभयोनेः षडाननः
Hearing this utterance of Kumbhayoni, the six-faced one (Skanda)...
महाशाखविशाखाभ्यां नंदिभृंगिपुरोगमः
Accompanied by Mahāśākha and Viśākha, with Nandi and Bhringi at the forefront,
नैगमेयेन सहितो रुद्रैः सर्वत्र संवृतः
Together with Naigameya and surrounded everywhere by the Rudras,
समस्तायतनाधीशैर्दिक्पालैरभिनंदितः
Honored by all the lords of shrines and the guardians of the directions,
कृतपूजोप्सरोभिश्च नृत्यहस्तकपल्लवैः
Worshipped by the Apsarases, with their hands adorned in dance gestures,
ऋषीणां ब्रह्मनिर्घोषैर्बधिरीकृतदिङ्मुखः
The quarters were deafened by the Brahmanical chants of the sages,
त्रिविष्टप वधूमुष्टिभ्रष्टैर्लाजैरितस्ततः
And here and there, parched rice, loosened from the fists of the heavenly brides, fell down.
दत्तमाल्योपहारश्च बहुविद्याधरी गणैः
Garlands and offerings were presented by many groups of Vidyādharas.
कृतप्रवेश शकुनो मृगैः शकुनिभिः पुरः
Birds and animals, along with other birds, entered ahead.
विष्णुना च महालक्ष्म्या ब्रह्मणा विश्वकर्मणा
By Viṣṇu, Mahālakṣmī, Brahmā, and Viśvakarma,
नागांगनाभिः परितः कृतनीराजनाविधिः 4.2.57.
Naga maidens performed the ritual of waving lamps all around.
पश्यतां सर्वदेवानामवरुह्य वृषेंद्रतः
Descending from the lord of bulls, before the gaze of all the gods,
यदहं प्राप्तवानस्मि पुरीं वाराणसीं शुभाम्
When I arrived at the auspicious city of Vārāṇasī,
यद्दुष्प्रसाध्यं हि पितुरपि त्रिजगतीतले
That which is difficult to attain even for my father in all three worlds,
अनेन गजवक्त्रेण स्वबुद्धिविभवेरिह
By this elephant-faced one, through his own wisdom and power here,
पुत्रवानहमेवास्मि यच्च मे चिरचिंतितम्
I alone have become a father, and what I have long contemplated,
इत्युक्त्वा त्रिपुरीहर्ता पुरुहूतादिभिः स्तुतः
Having spoken thus, the destroyer of Tripura was praised by Indra and others.
अविघ्नविघ्नशमन महाविघ्नैकविघ्नकृत्
Remover of obstacles, destroyer of impediments, creator of great and singular obstacles,
जय सर्वगणाधीश जय सर्व गणाग्रणीः
Victory to you, lord of all the Gaṇas! Victory to you, foremost among all Gaṇas!
जय सर्वग सर्वेश सर्वबुद्ध्येकशेवधे
Victory to you, all-pervading one, lord of all, sole repository of all wisdom!
सर्वमंगलमांगल्य जय त्वं सर्वमंगल 4.2.57.
Source of all auspiciousness, victory to you, embodiment of all auspiciousness!
