किरातेन किरातेशं लिंगं काश्यां प्रतिष्ठितम्
By the Kirāta, the liṅga called Kirāteśa was established in Kāśī.
चतुर्मुखो गणः श्रीमान्वृद्धकालेश सन्निधौ
The illustrious four-faced host is present at the shrine of Vṛddhakāleśa.
भक्ताश्चतुर्मुखेशस्य चतुराननवद्दिवि 4.2.55.१
The devotees of the Lord with four faces are as numerous as the days in heaven.
निकुंभेश्वरमालोक्य निकुंभगणपूजितम् कुबेरेश समीपेतु शिवलोके महीयते
Beholding Nikuṃbheśvara, worshipped by the Nikuṃbha hosts, Kubera is honored near him in the realm of Shiva.
पंचाक्षेशं महालिंगं महादेवस्य दक्षिणे
The great liṅga of Paṃcākṣeśa stands to the south of Mahādeva.
भारभूतेश्वरं लिंगं भारभूतगणार्चितम्
The liṅga of Bhārabhūteśvara is worshipped by the Bhārabhūta hosts.
भारभूतेश्वरं लिंगं यैः काश्यां न विलोकितम्
Those who have not beheld the liṅga of Bhārabhūteśvara in Kāśī—
गणेन त्र्यक्षसंज्ञेन लिंगं त्र्यक्षेश्वरं परम्
With the host named Tryakṣa, the supreme liṅga of Tryakṣeśvara is present.
तस्य लिंगस्य ये भक्तास्ते तु देहावसानतः
The devotees of that liṅga, at the end of their bodies—
क्षेमको नाम गणपः काश्यां मूर्तिधरः स्वयम्
Kṣemaka is the name of a Gaṇapa, who himself bears a form in Kāśī.
क्षेमकं पूजयेद्यस्तु वाराणस्यां महागणम्
Whoever worships Kṣemaka, the great Gaṇa, in Vārāṇasī—
देशांतरं गतो यस्तु तस्यागमनकाम्यया
Whoever has gone to another land, desiring to return—
लांगलीश्वरमालोक्य लिंगं लांगलिनार्चितम् 4.2.55.
Beholding Lāṃgalīśvara, the liṅga worshipped by Lāṃgali—
लांगलीशं सकृत्पूज्य पंचलांगलदानजम्
Lāṃgalīśa, once worshipped, is born from the gift of five ploughs.
विराधेश्वरमाराध्य विराधगणपूजितम्
Having worshipped Virādheśvara, honored by the Virādha hosts—
दिनेदिनेपराधो यः क्रियते काशिवासिभिः
The transgression committed daily by the residents of Kāśī—
नैर्ऋते दंढपाणस्तु विराधेशं प्रयत्नतः
In the southwest, Daṇḍapāṇi diligently approaches Virādheśa.
सुमुखेशं महालिंगं सुमुखाख्यगणार्चितम्
Sumukheśa, the great liṅga, is worshipped by the hosts called Sumukha.
स्नात्वा पिलिपिला तीर्थे सुमुखेशं विलोक्य च
Having bathed at the Pilipilā ford and beheld Sumukheśa—
आषाढिनार्चितं लिंगमाषाढीश्वरसंज्ञकम्
The liṅga worshipped by Āṣāḍha is known as Āṣāḍhīśvara.
उदीच्यां भारभूतेशादाषाढीशं समर्चयन्
Worshipping the lord of Aṣāḍhī from Bhārabhūti in the northern direction,
शुचिशुक्लचतुर्दश्यां पंचदश्यामथापि वा
On the pure, white fourteenth day, or on the fifteenth day as well,
स्वनाम्ना स्थाप्य लिंगानि विश्वेशपरितुष्टये 4.2.55.
Establishing liṅgas in one's own name for the satisfaction of Viśveśa,
विश्वेशश्चिंतयां चक्रे पुनः काशीप्रवृत्तये
Viśveśa contemplated again for the renewal of Kāśī,
योगिन्यस्तिग्मगुर्वेधाः शंकुकर्णमुखागणाः
The yoginīs, fierce teachers, and groups led by Śaṃkukarṇa,
धुवं काश्यां प्रविष्टा ये ते प्रविष्टा ममोदरे
Those who entered Kāśī have entered into my womb,
येषां हि संस्थितिः काश्यां लिंगार्चनरतात्मनाम्
For those whose existence is in Kāśī, devoted to worshipping the liṅga,
स्थावरा जंगमाः काश्यामचेतनसचेतनाः
The immobile and mobile beings in Kāśī, both unconscious and conscious,
वाचि वाराणसी येषां श्रुतौ वैश्वेश्वरी कथा
For whom the speech is Vārāṇasī, and the story of Vaiśveśvarī is heard,
वाराणसीति काशीति रुद्रावास इति स्फुटम्
Vārāṇasī, Kāśī, and Rudrāvāsa are clearly declared,
