Just as one regards oneself, so should one regard others, who desire happiness.
Whatever happiness or anything else is done to another—
Without hardship, there is no wealth; where there is no means, how can there be action?

Happiness is desired by all, and it arises from righteousness.

One who, without mother or father, performs the sacred thread ceremony or marriage—
Such acts do not bring merit, neither by daily fire offerings nor by sacrifices like Agniṣṭoma.

Women are always pure; they are not defiled by anyone.
In ancient times, women were enjoyed by the gods—Soma, Gandharvas, and Fire.
Soma granted purity to women; Fire bestowed universal sanctity.
During menstruation, Fire consumes the maiden; the Moon at the sight of body hair.
Visible body hair, barrenness, destruction of lineage, and emerging youthfulness—

Therefore, one desiring the fruit of giving a maiden should not give one who is unsanctified by fire.

He who gives a maiden untouched by Soma and others attains the fruit of giving.

The mouth of goats and horses is pure; cows are pure at the back.
Whether taken by force or seized by a thief,

If there is unfaithfulness in marriage, purity is restored by renunciation of the pregnancy.
A Śūdra's wife is indeed a Śūdra, and she is also considered his own, as is taught regarding the Vaiśya.
