What is to be asked? What should be requested? Who is to ask, beloved?
What land, what treasury, what army, what fortress, or anything else, O lovely one?
All that is under my rule, except for you, O sovereign of my life.
Hearing these words of the king, the daughter of the earth—
Kalavati said: The four aims of human life were established for the welfare of the people.
A birth lacking those is in vain, like a bubble on water.

You have here a hundred maidservants like me in your palace.
Even among your maidservants, there are those rich in enjoyment—how much more one who moves in your embrace!

All this is yours here, beloved, by the grace of the Lord of the universe.
Quickly send me, Lord, to the city of the Lord of the universe.

Hearing these clear words from Kalavati, Malyaketu spoke.
Beloved Kalavati, if you truly must depart,
They say a kingdom is a kingdom, but surely the glory of the kingdom is my beloved.
Having made the kingdom free from rivals, I have enjoyed pleasures without interruption.
Even children have been born; what more remains for me to do here?
Then, rising early in the morning, after performing purification and sipping rituals,
By Chandrayana vows, by austerities, and by service to her husband,
She spoke with a cheerful face, blessing him with auspicious words.
Meanwhile, a celestial chariot arrived, adorned with ringing clusters of bells.

Even if it is minute in size, the light of Kashi shines in its midst.
How many sacred places exist on this entire earth?
How many do not flow here, bringing joy like the ocean of jewels?
