रणे पणीकृतप्राणो विद्याधरसुतोपि सः 4.1.33.
Even the son of the Vidyādharas, who had staked his life in battle,
ध्यायंती सापि तं बाला विद्याधरकुमारकम्
That young girl, too, kept meditating on the Vidyādhara youth.
सुतो मलयकेतोस्तां कालेन परिणीतवान्
In time, the son of Malayaketu married her.
सापि प्राग्वासनायोगाल्लिंगार्चनरता सती
She, too, due to the force of previous habit, remained devoted to the worship of the liṅga.
मुक्ता वैदूर्य माणिक्य पुष्परागेभ्य एव सा
She was adorned with pearls, cat's-eye gems, rubies, and flowers of red hue.
कलावती माल्यकेतुं पतिं प्राप्य पतिव्रता
Kalavati, devoted to her husband, obtained Malyaketu as her spouse.
एकदा कश्चिदौदीच्यो माल्यकेतुं नरेश्वरम्
Once, a certain northerner approached Malyaketu, the king among men.
मुहुर्मुहुः प्रपश्यंती रहसि प्राणदेवताम्
Again and again, she gazed in secret upon her beloved, the very deity of her life.
क्षणमुन्मील्य नयने कृत्वा नेत्रातिथिं पटीम्
For a moment, opening her eyes, she made her gaze a guest, weaving a curtain with her glance.
संभेदोयमसे रम्य उपलोलार्कमग्रतः 4.1.33.
This delightful union is like the playful sun before us.
तृणीकृत्य निजं देहं यत्र राजर्षिसत्तमः 4.1.33.
Having regarded his own body as mere grass, where the eminent royal sage dwells.
एषा मत्स्योदरी रम्या यत्स्नातो मानवोत्तमः 4.1.33.
This charming Matsyodari is where the foremost among men bathed.
चतुर्वेदेश्वरश्चैष चतुर्वेदधरो विधिः 4.1.33.
He is the lord of the four Vedas, the bearer of the four Vedas, the ordinance.
वैरोचनेश्वरश्चैष पुरः प्रह्लादकेशवात् 4.1.33.
He is the lord of the descendants of Virocana, standing before Prahlada and Keshava.
बिंदुमाधवभक्तो यस्तं यमोपि नमस्यति 4.1.33.
He is devoted to Bindumadhava, whom even Yama reverently honors.
निर्वाणनरसिंहोयं भक्तनिर्वाणकारणम्
He is Narasimha of liberation, the cause of liberation for his devotees.
यस्यार्चनाल्लभेज्जंतुः प्रियत्वं सर्वजन्तुषु 4.1.33.
By worshipping him, a creature attains favor among all beings.
कालेश्वरकपर्दीशौ चरणावतिनिर्मलौ 4.1.33.
The feet of Kaleshvara and Kapardishvara are spotless and descended.
अशोकाख्यमिदं तीर्थं गंगाकेशव एष वै 4.1.33.

हुत्वाग्निहोत्रमपि च यावज्जीवं द्विजोत्तमाः
Having performed the Agnihotra sacrifice throughout their lives, O best of twice-born,
वेदान्पठित्वा विधिवद्ब्रह्मयज्ञरता भुवि
Having studied the Vedas according to rule, engaged in the Brahma-yajña on earth,
इष्ट्वा क्रतूनपि नृपा बहून्पर्याप्तदक्षिणान्
Having offered many sacrifices, O kings, with sufficient gifts to priests,
सीमंतिन्योपि सततं पतिव्रतपरायणाः
Even women living at the boundaries, always devoted to fidelity to their husbands,
वैश्या अपि च सेवंते न्यायोपार्जितसंपदः
Even Vaiśyas, serving with wealth acquired by just means,
त्यक्त्वा पुत्रकलत्रादि सच्छूद्रा न्यायमार्गगाः 4.1.34.
And virtuous Śūdras, who, abandoning children, wives, and others, follow the path of righteousness,
यावज्जीवं चरंतोपि ब्रह्मचर्य जितेंद्रियाः
Those who, to the end of life, practice celibacy, with senses subdued,
