Abandon the actions of the poor, those covered in dust and dirt.
Having reached that final state, then practice the yoga of devotion.
Sometimes, seeing his father with an angry gaze—
Then he fell into deep thought and even became confused about directions.
'Where shall I go, where shall I stay, O Shambhu, so that my welfare may be achieved?'
Thus I heard before, while resting in my father's lap—

Those who are devoid of the Vedas and Smṛtis, lacking in purity and proper conduct,
And those who have fallen from yoga, bereft of austerity and charity,
For whom there is dishonor at every step among their own relatives,
For whom, dwelling among the virtuous, the forest of bliss is truly delightful,

Where the seeds of karma are burned by the fire of the Lord of the universe,

Harikeśa, having reflected thus, went to the city of Vārāṇasī.
