When there is neither the circle of earth nor the arising of waters,
This is the secret of the field—no one knows it, O Kumbhaja.
Only to one who is faithful, humble, and endowed with the vision of knowledge of the three times—
From then on, this field is called Avimukta.
(paryaṅka) The deluded imagine its non-existence when it comes to those two, Śiva and Śivā.

Because from the seeds of bliss, the sprouts arise there,

Thus, O Ghaṭodbhava, it became known as Avimukta.
Before Ānandavana, there, as Śiva and Śivā delighted,
Upon which the great burden was placed, we both moved freely in our own realm.
He alone does everything; he alone also protects all.

Having gathered the ocean of the mind, agitated by the waves of thought.
By whose grace we remain happily in the forest of bliss.
Having considered thus, that Lord, everywhere present in the form of consciousness.
With his left hand, he directed his gaze, the limb that pours forth nectar.
Peaceful, endowed with the quality of sattva, profound, victorious over the ocean.
Radiant with the brilliance of a sapphire, glorious, with supreme lotus-like eyes.
Adorned by the pair of mighty, shining arms.
He alone is the abode of all virtues, he alone is the repository of all arts.
Then, beholding that great one, adorned with supreme glory.
The Vedas are your breath; from them you will know everything.
Having spoken thus to him, the Lord of great beings, embodiment of the essence of intellect.
Then the blessed Vishnu, placing the command upon his crown.
Hari, having dug there with the discus, made a beautiful lotus pond.
He performed severe austerity for fifty thousand years.
Then the blessed Lord, accompanied by Mrida and others.
He spoke to Hrishikesha, repeatedly shaking his crown.
Ah! This fire, without fuel, burns ceaselessly.
Recognizing this as Mrida's utterance, he spoke.
