With clubs, spears, tridents, maces, and pestles in abundance,
From the drawn bows and the flying arrows,
And with the blaring of battle-trumpets and the loud trumpeting of elephants,
The space between heaven and earth was filled with reverberating echoes.
The mighty roars of elephants and horses, and the sharp sounds of their cries,
Strange displays of bloodshed, and the horses, elephants, and chariots,
Seeing the army being shattered here and there by the Pramathas,
By the blows of arrows and thunderbolts, like trees struck by thunder,
Observing those approaching, departing, distant and near,
By Vinayaka, Skanda, Nandi, and Somanandi,
And by those fierce Ganas and others, Andhaka was rendered blind.
Then a tumult arose between the armies of the Pramathas and the Asuras.
Seeking out openings, wandering and darting about like the wind,
Of Brahma, Narayana, Indra, the Adityas, and the Vasus likewise,
For a hundred years, circling around in the belly of Bhava,
Then, by the yoga of Shambhu, Bhargava entered in the form of Shukra.
Because semen issued forth from you like that of Śukra, therefore, O descendant of Bhṛgu,
When the semen emerged from the belly, even the god rejoiced greatly.
Thus addressed by the god, he shone with a radiance like that of Śukra and the sun.
Because of the arising of Śukra, that great ocean-like Dānava experienced joy.
While the great battle between Andhaka and the slayer of Andhaka was ongoing,
In the same way, he obtained that supreme knowledge of reviving the dead.
Which bestows movement to those born from eggs, sweat, sprouts, and wombs.
Having established the liṅga of glorious Śambhu and made a well before it,
